Others have been mentioning dates of birth and so I was wondering: what do your people do in order to celebrate the day someone is born, or named, or comes into their own?
Also, how do your people celebrate the lives that have ended?

Births or.. receiving of a new child was typically celebrated with a party intended to introduce the baby to it's fellow citizens, in Romdeau. Generally flowing alcohol, celebration that a family had been chosen to receive a new child since they weren't given too quickly, that kind of thing. They're particularly special because you only celebrate maybe.. two per year at the maximum.
Deaths.. were typically very somber. but fast occasions.
Life moves on, even after death, after all.

[ That's not the weirdest thing he could have thought of. ]
Two per year per family or are there that few children?
This is true.
How is your arm?

You've mentioned your fragile health before; have you considered asking the health professionals here if there is any treatment options available to you?
I really wish you would not call me that.
I don't know, to answer your question.

The newly born and the dead seem to handle their parts without anything special, but the rest need rituals and ceremonies during those times. I think I'd rather have a drink and stargaze instead.

Not a terrible idea. The drinking, anyway. Difficult to stargaze from here.

A special day for a special somebody. For me it is shared between five other brothers who are also born the same day, which makes things complicated. It consists of waking up early, hardly getting any rest from such unconstrained excitement from my brother who insists on throwing the cover off of us to announce the big day. It is a race down the stairs, and a blood bath to see who can get the biggest piece of cake. There is a lot of fighting, usually, over things such as this on such a sacred day. The rest of the day is spent together, as it always is. We all exchange gifts with one another, we all receive presents from our parents, and then there is plenty of drinking until we pass out.
Then, next year, we repeat the same ritual.
[ you heard him right. five other brothers born on the same day, so that makes six in total... sextuplets.
also it sounds pretty lame, cause all of them are, actually. ]

[Look at her talking as if she's ever had a typical birthday party, haha.
Welp.]
As for the ones who die-- that depends on the person's religion or lack thereof, but you either bury them or cremate them. Personally, I would've enjoyed uploading my consciousness to a computer and living again through its circuitry, but you can't always get what you want.
[Technically, that sorta kinda happened, but it's. really complicated.]

What if there is no body?
Sounds messy, honestly, but I can see the appeal.
