Others have been mentioning dates of birth and so I was wondering: what do your people do in order to celebrate the day someone is born, or named, or comes into their own?

Also, how do your people celebrate the lives that have ended?

Holidays aren't timed conveniently. What a tragedy.

Why, are you looking to find a special way to mourn the loss of someone or something?

Then what should be even more obvious is that you don't need to have a specific date to look back on the life of those who passed on.

Throw some flowers out an airlock or set up a memorial in your room or something.
