Others have been mentioning dates of birth and so I was wondering: what do your people do in order to celebrate the day someone is born, or named, or comes into their own?
Also, how do your people celebrate the lives that have ended?
Also, how do your people celebrate the lives that have ended?

A special day for a special somebody. For me it is shared between five other brothers who are also born the same day, which makes things complicated. It consists of waking up early, hardly getting any rest from such unconstrained excitement from my brother who insists on throwing the cover off of us to announce the big day. It is a race down the stairs, and a blood bath to see who can get the biggest piece of cake. There is a lot of fighting, usually, over things such as this on such a sacred day. The rest of the day is spent together, as it always is. We all exchange gifts with one another, we all receive presents from our parents, and then there is plenty of drinking until we pass out.
Then, next year, we repeat the same ritual.
[ you heard him right. five other brothers born on the same day, so that makes six in total... sextuplets.
also it sounds pretty lame, cause all of them are, actually. ]

I feel sorry for your mother, suddenly.

But she is the greatest and i would not ask for anyone else to be my Mommy.
[ ??? suddenly feelings.. ]
The day of celebration is May 24th.. and should i be the only one here, i suppose i will have a lot more cake. More than i have ever gotten.
[ he sounds happy about this, but he's really not..
they share their food.. all of the time. Even now, eating full portions since he's been here is weird. ]

[ Especially if they're all as big of a flirt as this one appears to be. ]
You could always throw a party with five friends and share the cake. Unless you want it all to yourself.

Karamatsu doesn't want to say that because he's too prideful. ]
I'm sure five, eager and adoring fans would be delighted if i reached out and blessed them with some of my birthday cake.
But.. i suppose it will depend on what kind of cake it is. If it is my favorite, then possibly not.
[ he's usually over generous but this is cake we're talking about, man.. ]

How old are you?
no subject
Twenty-three. This next birthday will be twenty-four.
I am legal... for all things.
[ he's proud about that... ]
no subject
[ Please, he can only take so much. ]
I'm going to give you some advice you are welcome to ignore: you'll make more friends if you don't call them eager and adoring fans.
Also some woman you talk to is going to hit you in the face if you keep up the way you are.

However, not today: ]
Oh? Do you strive to change yourself when you find out people don't like who you are?
no subject
[ Being a spy and all. ]
I strive to be worthy of the few friendships I possess.
no subject
Do you allow them to contort and twist you into something else, or do you allow yourself to be who you are?
no subject
You're a civilian, for one thing.
no subject
there's a pause for a moment before he replies. ]
I suppose certain circumstances and lifestyles could affect something like that.
Though, you mentioned a "few friendships" ... isn't that lonely for you?
no subject
[ Cuz they died. ]
Besides, some of my friends are here.
no subject
I see.
Being placed here has opened up an opportunity for more friendships to blossom, though.
I believe we all should take advantage of that.
[ he just met you, ok, but he feels like you shouldn't be alone. ]
no subject
[ Granted, Cassian's idea of making friends looks suspiciously like a spy network, so maybe he's not the best at it. ]
Don't worry, my closest friends are here.
