I hope no one minds answering this: What languages did you speak or write back in your world/galaxy/universe/etc? If you have the time, could you also write out the alphabet of the languages you know and attach a picture of them in your reply?
I recently found out that a language I know matches up with someone else's, and we aren't even from the same galaxy. It could be interesting to see if any others are the same. I don't know if this information will be useful later on, but I'm going to keep a record of it all just in case.
I'll send a copy of the file to anyone who wants it later. Thanks.

I was taught many different languages.. Latin, French... anything I would have to read philosophy in, really.
Either way, this place probably already has that database - there has to be some kind of algorithm to bringing us all here, after all. It wouldn't make sense if there wasn't.

I don't believe one second's worth of that 'anomaly' talk. Though, maybe I am overly paranoid, I will admit. This place reminds me a lot of my former home, and the reminder of that is not entirely a pleasant one.
Still - I would be wary of believing too much. There is no reason to implicitly trust this ship or these people.

My native language is Altean.
[and there's an image attached with an alphabet that resembles these types of letters. except pretend there's like. more......]

You think so, too? It could give us something to talk about at least.
It was sort of a surprise when Jyn and I realized English and High Galactic were the same.

It is interesting seeing how many similarities there are between galaxies.

[ She'll attach a file alphabet.txt to her comment, pretend there's some fancy letters. ]
My native language is Twi'leki. It's certainly possible for other people to learn it, but it's difficult to convey all the meaning in a phrase unless you are a Twi'lek, with lekku. Our language includes gestures, as well as words.

What is lekku?

I don't know if that helps, but it's what I've got.

Japanese is my first language, English my second. I can also provide a respectable kanji vocabulary if you like.
[Attached: textbook-perfect hiragana and katakana charts]

I had no idea some of us already shared a language, but it's reassuring to know.

My primary language is Russian, with secondary and tertiary languages of English and French.
( He includes photos of all three languages, though with the Cyrillic script, he also includes a cursive alphabet. Then for the heck of it, he includes a second attachment, where he's written the alphabet for English and French as well in cursive. He supports your projects, Yuuri! Publicly and otherwise. )
text;
I meant to ask you for a picture of the Cyrillic alphabet anyway, so this works out. Thanks.
I knew you spoke French, but I don't hink I've ever heard you use it before.

TEXT, UN: REAPER
English, Spanish, and some French. But all of these are languages that use the same alphabet, save for a few accents on certain letters. Unhelpful for what you're looking for, for the most part.
What I'm interested in is the file you have.

[It's all really weird to think about still.] Some universal translator type thing? How sci-fi. [Not that this whole thing wasn't, but.
She scribbles down hiragana and katakana on a paper and sends a picture.] I could write kanji too but that'd take forever. I know a little bit of English too, but not really a lot.

Are you Japanese, too? It looks like there are a few of us around.

If it the file is useful, it'll be when the auto-translators screw up -.
I want a copy as well

I was wondering if that would happen, too. Most technology needs to be tuned up at some point.
OK. I can send you what I have compiled so far, unless you want to wait!
