I hope no one minds answering this: What languages did you speak or write back in your world/galaxy/universe/etc? If you have the time, could you also write out the alphabet of the languages you know and attach a picture of them in your reply?

I recently found out that a language I know matches up with someone else's, and we aren't even from the same galaxy. It could be interesting to see if any others are the same. I don't know if this information will be useful later on, but I'm going to keep a record of it all just in case.

No I guess not. Doesn't that mean some of the meaning is lost when in your written records though?

Head tails? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Some meaning is always lost when putting an oral tradition to writing.

[ After a moment, she switches to video. Hera isn't necessarily a big fan of putting herself on display, but this is a serious question from someone genuinely interested in her people. It's different.

Wow. Head tails--I can see why they're called that. [His eyes are wide with curiosity.] Have you ever met humans before back in your, um, universe?

[ Hera smiles - she supposes it's a fair question, though it does make her want to laugh. ]

Yes, quite a few. There are all sorts of species in my galaxy.

It's a lot to get used to. [He smiles at her sheepishly.]

Back home, we knew there was possibility of other species out in space, but we haven't actually found any.

[Visibly perking up in response.] Really? Well, that's nice of you.

I guess the first thing that comes to mind is, if you've dealt with humans before, do they learn Twi'leki to talk to you or did you learn one of their languages?

[firstrebel]

I've known a couple of humans who know Twi'leki, but mostly I learned their language. My galaxy has a common language, for trading and diplomacy. I learned it, before I left my home.

Wow, a language used across the entire galaxy?

[He wonders how long it would've taken for it to spread and establish itself like that.]

What's it called?

Galactic basic. It's what we're speaking now.

Galactic--wait! [His expression lights up with recognition.]

Then that means you're from the same universe as Jyn and Captain Andor. Where I'm from, this language is called English. That's sort of how I got the idea for this list.

I've met Jyn. Can't say I've heard of a Captain Andor. But yes, there are several of us from the same galaxy.

That's great. It's nice knowing people from the same world or galaxy are around sometimes...but I'm not sure if I want to see more people from home either.

I'm guessing you didn't know Jyn and the captain before you got here?

[firstrebel]

No. I've found one or two people from my home galaxy with whom I'm already acquainted, but none of them especially close, and I'd never met Jyn before arriving here.

There's two more? Wow, that's lucky for you, if they're friends.

Most people I've talked to either don't know anyone already onboard or only know one more person.

[firstrebel]

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call them "friends". Allies, maybe. None of my crew is here.

Allies are better than nothing, right?

What are your crew member's names? I could help you keep an eye out for them in case they show up.
