Project 1: [voice] un: hello
[The Eluvio definitely made him nervous, bringing back memories of a different highly technological setting, but Emil had already made the decision to keep his weird skull-like head up and carry on. That was all there was to do, right? So even though he was scared, he was not only going to wear the strange clothes they gave him and try his best at his first ever real job, but he was going to... try to talk to new people.
It still felt like a real accomplishment, even if he did feel a lot safer not using the video feed. He just didn't want to scare anyone..]
Hello, everyone! My name is Emil.
[There. A perfectly normal thing to say! He could do this. He was going to ignore his anxieties and be brave like his friends.]
This is really confusing, but... as long as I'm here, I want to help! I can use magic, and I can fight with it, so if anyone needs a helping hand, like in a dangerous situation... I could do that.
[He can feel himself growing more and more self-conscious, so he hurries to wrap it up.]
Oh! And... does anyone know where I could get some gloves? Really small ones?

VOICE; UN: REAPER
Plenty of places to buy and trade in the fleet. But if you're desperate for something that's sized to you, then you could pay someone to make a set for you. Gloves aren't that hard a make.
[Not that he'd offer his own services right away--he's not nice.]
What I'm more interested in is this magic of yours. What exactly is it that you can do.
[Magic doesn't really exist where he's from--and he's become curious about it since he got here.]
no subject
[But, childish petulance aside, he is definitely eager to prove himself to this stranger.]
Oh, I know a lot of magic now! I can... do magic attacks, and heal a little bit, and fly...
[There's a somewhat suspicious pause where Emil hopes Reaper will interrupt him and ask more questions, but in the ensuing silence, he slowly finishes the thought.]
Um. Also, I can turn people to stone and back again, but I don't really like doing that. So, I mostly meant the other stuff, if it could help.
no subject
Should learn how. Never know when you'll find being able to sew useful. That aside.
Being able to petrify things sounds... interesting. But the healing I'm most interested in.
You'll find yourself useful in a place like this, if you can fix wounds.
Do you need gloves due to the temperatures in this place? Some of the living quarters have heat that can't be adjusted. [So he'd understand.]

Why do you need tiny gloves?
no subject
They're for my hands. Every time I tap on the screen or move my finger around on it, it makes a... noise. And I don't want to scratch it, it looks really cool and expensive.
[Honestly is definitely the best policy, even if telling the truth is a little awkward.]

[ Yes, Vaas Montenegro, the paragon of responsibility and taking care of one's things. ]
You know you can get little pens for this, no? A little stylus. Makes touching the buttons easier if you have problems with your fingers.

Sorry about the gloves, though. I don't have any, but maybe they sell them somewhere here? There are a lot of stores here.
[voice still]
But I have a lot more magic than I used to. I can use it to fight, and I can heal people a little. And I can... well, actually, I've always been able to turn people to stone. But now I can control it and I can turn people back so it's a lot less scary.
voice now too
[ There's a small laugh about the stone part. ] Well at least you can turn people back now. I don't know how much fighting and healing will be needed, but apparently it'll come up some day. From what I've heard from the others. So that's really helpful. Probably the stone part too if there's a really bad threat.

you got cold hands or are those key to your whole fighting magic routine?
no subject
It's not really that my hands get cold or anything, I think they'd just help me use this cool wrist thingy they gave me.

How small do you need the gloves to be?
no subject
[There's a pause as he looks down at his skeletal hands, trying to assess the size he needs.
He doesn't have a clue.]
I guess... child sized is fine? That should be good.

[He's never had so many nice conversations. Maybe this place isn't as scary as he thought.]
I'm not sure what size I need. I never bought gloves before; my butler always took care of these things for me.

Small gloves should be easy to craft, so long as you have the right number of digits. Then again extra shouldn't prove a problem either.
[A pause... then...]
Magic?

[Hmm.]
And er, yeah, you know. Magic? Like flying, or healing, or attacking?

Magic? [ She seems... disbelieving, but hopeful, if that makes any damn sense. After all, if this place was real enough, and the way she was told she arrived to be believed, magic might not be too far out, right? But the far more scientific part wants to know what the hell he means by 'magic.'
Hopefully Emil doesn't mind quite the grilling... ]
There are plenty of shops around.. I haven't gone shopping specifically for gloves.. or gloves for men, but they shouldn't be too hard to find.
no subject
Yeah, a few people have said there's an accessories shop, and styluses, and a few other things I can use.
And yeah, magic. It's not that common where I'm from, but... here I am!

[ way to ice break with something so dismal, but he's trying to sound cool.. ]
Heh.
With that magic of yours that you boast about, I doubt you could heal a broken heart.
[ nobody asked...... ]
I'm crying it hurts already
[He frets a bit, wondering how to respond to this guy. Is it a joke? Is he reciting poetry? Or maybe he's suffering from unrequited love and trying to talk about it?
Detective Emil is on the case!]
Do you really think unappreciated love is the worst? What about lost love? Or never finding it at all?
