[There. A perfectly normal thing to say! He could do this. He was going to ignore his anxieties and be brave like his friends.]

This is really confusing, but... as long as I'm here, I want to help! I can use magic, and I can fight with it, so if anyone needs a helping hand, like in a dangerous situation... I could do that.

[The first voice to answer poor Emil would be one that's echoing in nature, raspy on the edges, and certainly not as friendly as Emil was trying to be.]

Plenty of places to buy and trade in the fleet. But if you're desperate for something that's sized to you, then you could pay someone to make a set for you. Gloves aren't that hard a make.

What I'm more interested in is this magic of yours. What exactly is it that you can do.

It's been a while since he's had the harder drugs, so he's a bit more lucid than he has been in the past. But linear conversations might still be a bit of a chore. Um. Also, I can turn people to stone and back again, but I don't really like doing that. So, I mostly meant the other stuff, if it could help.

They're for my hands. Every time I tap on the screen or move my finger around on it, it makes a... noise. And I don't want to scratch it, it looks really cool and expensive.

But I have a lot more magic than I used to. I can use it to fight, and I can heal people a little. And I can... well, actually, I've always been able to turn people to stone. But now I can control it and I can turn people back so it's a lot less scary.

Yes, people are generally very nice. Now, if your butler always took care of these things, I can see why it'd be difficult to say. You'll probably need to try on different gloves at the stores or ask a clerk for assistance. They're usually good at getting sizes to match as they should.
