Hello, out there! For those of you that aren't aware, my name is Dorian Pavus. For those of you that are— [ he smiles, oh so charmingly ] I'm positive it's lovely to see me again.

Introductions aside, I do have a motive for coming here today. I know some of us had a rather... [ and he's putting this so lightly ] unfortunate trip down to Oros and are still feeling the effects of it. Or, perhaps even unrelated ailments may be weighing you down. Whatever the case may be, I am here to offer my services.

[ Ahem. ]

Of a sort.

[ Leaning out of the frame for a moment, he comes back with a small try of a few potted plants and differently colored vials. ]

I've been doing a bit of additional research with the plants and such from Oros and those here aboard the ship. Some results have been... interesting. [ He taps the cork of a vial containing hot pink liquid in it. ] This one in particular was quite something.

[ Not that he's going to share what happened but suffice to say it was something new and interesting for him. ]

At any rate, my fellow travellers, I have a request among my offer. First, there are tonics available to those who need them for minor aches and pains, sleeping issues and so on. I'm a healer by no means but do know enough of it [ his hand lifts and a tendril of blue green mist curls around his finger before disappearing into sparks ] to get by.

Secondly! And perhaps a little more importantly, these. [ A gesture to the things in front of him again. ] Some are untested and I'm not positive what they'll do, so, I wanted to cast my net a little wider and see if there were any fellow researchers or those of that ilk to try some of these tonics and plants to... [ he trails off then just shrugs with another easy smile ] Well, just see what they do. If you've any interest at all, do be in touch!

[ Cullen knows better than to ingest foreign substances. Especially when the foreign substance his former Order forced him to ingest turned out to be the blood of Titans. But Dorian is his friend and he wants to be supportive of his endeavors.

Strange, how now he can trust a Tevinter magister more than he feels comfortable trusting the Chantry. ]

What do you believe the chance of addiction to these substances might be?

[ Hey, it pays to build meaningful and lasting relationships. Trust is a funny thing, Dorian can attest and agree to that. But here he is, trusting people he never would have before he came south. ]

To be perfectly honest, Cullen, I'm not entirely positive. I can claim I don't believe anything will happen, but something can easily prove me wrong. However, in certain respects, anyone could become addicted to anything at any time, given the right situation and parameters.

Yes, one we were recently tasked with visiting. To say it didn't go wonderfully would be a slight bit of an understatement. My group in particular was attacked by a dragon while down there. I heard others ran into similar issues.

Of course, that hardly compares to the annihilation of the planet itself. Messy business, Oros.

<I would be interested in these samples. I was... unable to visit Oros in time to do any investigation myself. My people place a great deal of importance on horticulture and I may be able to determine if they have any useful properties.>

[ He can eat one. Or more. Just, some things may happen that he might not like. ]

I find that most flora have useful properties. But, I'm certainly happy to give samples, provided you return the favor in observations of the outcome.

[Ax is not actually a horticulturalist. Actually, he may or may not have failed that class in school. But Dorian doesn't need to know that.]

Just a bit, yes. There is far more to it and some more exciting that just that simple show.

I can only imagine. How amazing! You've used some part of magic in developing these tonics you're speaking about, I take it?

[There's definitely admiration in the young voice on the other end of the line. So cool! A healer, and a magic user at that!]

Oh, no, no. That is not my specialty and plan to keep it as such!

[ Not that he'd ignore anyone in need, but Dorian isn't under any impression he's the galaxy's greatest healer. ]

I have just been afforded the opportunity to experiment and couldn't simply pass that up!

What's in those tonics?

[ honestly, she's only understood maybe two-thirds of this, but it seems like there's magic involved. and herbal remedies. dorothy has no idea what oros is. ]

[ Confidence does not equal arrogance! He's skilled in many areas, but, no he isn't a healer. With magic. But any magister worth his title knows his way around a bloody tonic. What does he look like? A Fereldan savage?! ]

An assortment of different things, really. It depends on whice one.

That's good to know. I'm new around here, just arrived. You mind catching me up on what happened with this Oros place?

[ The word doesn't ring familiar, but clearly it has something to do with magic. Still, he needs to make the correction; ]

Certainly a pity I cannot offer a better welcome. [ But, they're all stuck here and little can be done about that. ] But, yes, Oros. It was a planet we just left last week. I'm afraid I cannot offer more intimate details of the trip itself, my particular group was only there for a brief time while others had longer and vastly different jobs while there.

An item was retrieved for an unknown purpose—which was captured, to my knowledge. Talk around the department here is something triggered a nuclear strike? [ It's said as a question because he doesn't know what that even really means. ] It began to destroy the planet and we all worked to evacuate as many of the inhabitants as possible—you'll see them aboard as they look a little unusual.

Unfortunately, not all were rescued and the planet itself was utterly destroyed.

I'd volunteer to help if I thought it wouldn't interfere with my assigned station! But it seems like that could be enough of a risk as it is. Can't get reliable results without any consistency!

[ Trust that Dorian would never put anyone's mustache in danger! He knows how important they can be!

At any rate, he understands about interference and wouldn't wish to put anyone into a bad situation, so he just moves right along. ]

That's one way of phrasing it, yes, if you don't have a word for or understand magic. [ Which, is entirely possible. Dorian's already met some that have no idea what it is. ] Ability works just fine.

Had you been sent to pick plants, too? It sounds like that was the fun assignment. [ A pause. ] Except for the burning plants, those were no good.

In a sense. We were meant to scout the terrain and collect various different samples. However, I couldn't quite resist collecting different samples along the way so I had something to work with upon returning to the Eluvio.

[ He grins a little. ]

I've found a use for the burning plants myself, though I don't imagine others would have the same results.
