Hello, out there! For those of you that aren't aware, my name is Dorian Pavus. For those of you that are— [ he smiles, oh so charmingly ] I'm positive it's lovely to see me again.

Introductions aside, I do have a motive for coming here today. I know some of us had a rather... [ and he's putting this so lightly ] unfortunate trip down to Oros and are still feeling the effects of it. Or, perhaps even unrelated ailments may be weighing you down. Whatever the case may be, I am here to offer my services.

[ Ahem. ]

Of a sort.

[ Leaning out of the frame for a moment, he comes back with a small try of a few potted plants and differently colored vials. ]

I've been doing a bit of additional research with the plants and such from Oros and those here aboard the ship. Some results have been... interesting. [ He taps the cork of a vial containing hot pink liquid in it. ] This one in particular was quite something.

[ Not that he's going to share what happened but suffice to say it was something new and interesting for him. ]

At any rate, my fellow travellers, I have a request among my offer. First, there are tonics available to those who need them for minor aches and pains, sleeping issues and so on. I'm a healer by no means but do know enough of it [ his hand lifts and a tendril of blue green mist curls around his finger before disappearing into sparks ] to get by.

Secondly! And perhaps a little more importantly, these. [ A gesture to the things in front of him again. ] Some are untested and I'm not positive what they'll do, so, I wanted to cast my net a little wider and see if there were any fellow researchers or those of that ilk to try some of these tonics and plants to... [ he trails off then just shrugs with another easy smile ] Well, just see what they do. If you've any interest at all, do be in touch!

[ dorothy would have understood even less of that than she did of his original post, had he said any of it out loud. but her assessment of his arrogance is really based more on his narcissism than any skill he may or may not have. ]

The one for sleeping issues, for example.

Oh, that one is mostly basic herbs anyone can find in the apothecary aboard the ship. My aim is to make it a little stronger using a sample or two I was able to get my hands on from Oros. Currently, I'm on the third in a series of tests for this, but I think I'm quite on to something here.

There's an apothecary? [ that's good. dorothy doesn't really need anything, but - it's just good. ] What's Oros? Or where?

Yes, it's on the second floor of the market area. It takes a bit of searching as it is out of the way. Lovely woman who works there, however. She can find anything!

[ That he's spent time there talking to her for hours is his own business! ]

Oros is a planet we just recently left. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a where for it any longer.

[ dorothy even smiles a little. a pharmacy nearby is definitely a plus. she wouldn't want a repeat of what happened to lucas, with his infected wound and no medication anywhere. ]

What do you mean, there doesn't appear to be a where any longer? [ he can't mean that the planet is gone, can he? planets don't just disappear. ]

[ How has he become tasked with telling new anomaly folk about what happened at Oros? He is not the best person for this. Dorian sighs softly, his hand lifting to rub the side of his finger against his chin. ]

I mean simply that. The planet does not exist any longer. I can't claim to know the full extent of it, only things I've heard or read for myself, however, something caused a nuclear strike.

[ That's all he can really offer because he doesn't... really know what nuclear strikes really mean or what they are. Just that it's Bad. ]

[ "something caused a nuclear strike". history class covered the dropping of two nuclear bombs, so dorothy knows a little about that, about what it can do. probably more than dorian, and her expression is appropriately shocked. ]

Shit. [ comes her eloquent response. after a moment, she adds: ] I was hoping you didn't mean the planet was gone. An entire planet?

[ He doesn't really like talking about this. Not only because he doesn't really know what happened, but because it's sort of terrifying to think about. And. He'd really rather not. ]

Yes, the entire planet was destroyed.

Did anyone survive?

[ maybe that's a stupid question... how do you survive a planet being destroyed? ]

[ Hey, that's definitely not a stupid question. ]

Yes. I'm afraid I cannot give more than a vague response, but a number of the planet's locals were given refuge aboard the ship. Not that they're easy to miss, but should you require more information...
