We’ve all been told about the anomalies; I got the welcome package same as everyone else, I assume. But I’m wondering — is this still the same galaxy? The same universe? Before I came here, I was falling through a wormhole.

[ for a moment, his expression shifts from neutral to something sad, almost pained. it doesn’t last very long. he wishes he knew where the rest of his team was, whether they’re all right. at least allura is here, but pidge, keith, hunk and lance? he can only hope they're okay, and the forced inactivity doesn't sit well with him. ] I come from a planet called Earth, but I recently learned that there are a lot of space-faring races in the galaxy and that most of the galaxy has already been taken over by the Galra.

Does any of this sound familiar?

[ from what he's seen on the network so far, the question will likely be answered in the negative, and so a moment later he adds: ] If it doesn’t, and this is another universe, — any ideas on how to get back?

I've only heard of Earth from people here. And I've never heard of the Galra before. Where I'm from, it's the Galactic Empire that's in charge of the galaxy.

[ But not for long. ]

As for getting back, none of my hyperspace calculations are working out. I can't seem to plot a course back to anywhere that looks familiar. We might be in another universe altogether.

[ shiro nods. even if he isn't entirely sure what hyperspace is, he gets the gist of it. ] I was afraid that might be the case.

[ Lando mirrors that with his own somber nod. ] I'm not the kind of genius who can calculate hyperspace jumps across whole universes. It's hard enough navigating the hyperspace lanes in my own galaxy.

But if you manage to find a way back to somewhere, let me know.

[ That's new. Sam frowns, but try though he might, he can't recall any group of people by that name. ]

There were two groups in my time, but the Galra wasn't one of them. What are they?

[ shiro, meanwhile, doesn't have to think very long at all, though he wouldn't consider himself an expert on the galra. ] They're an alien race. Tall, purple, sometimes scaley. Where I'm from, the Galra Empire has taken over most of the known universe.

Do you know anything about space travel? The Kerberos mission? [ shiro figures given that it's the furthest away from earth any human has ever been — had ever been — it would be well known. almost like the moon landing. ]

( He still feels like an idiot saying this, and so he laughs, raking a hand through the fringe of his bangs to aim a rueful smile at the comm propped up on his desk. )

Earth is my home, too. The Galra are new. Getting back is apparently fruitless, per the conversations I've had the last few weeks. However, it seems like if such a thing is possible as to come here, could a similar process not be discovered to deliberately move matter from this reality back to our own?

( It seems science fiction possible, at least... it's just nothing he can really help with. He's shifting his expectations to being here, not because home matters any less, but because in the end he'd rather be a realistic and figure out how to survive and live now while still hoping, and aiming, for what he wants most. )

[ given their current situation, it's not an idiotic thing to say at all, and shiro's expression doesn't change, except to answer that rueful smile with a brief — mostly polite — one of his own. ] Have you heard of the Kerberos mission? [ this is going to be his new test for whether people are from the same earth as him, it seems. ]

[ Because for as much as the crew on the ship isn't all that helpful, occasionally the map on the comms gets pings of where they are and none of those numbers look familiar to Maine and he's been in a lot of space. ]

I'm afraid this may be an entirely different universe altogether, Shiro. The Castle-ship's map has not picking up any familiar planets, and I cannot detect the presence of the other Lions.

The Galra, huh? You had things sounding familiar up until that point. [ which is interesting, actually. to have earth but something different about it. carolina's no expert in universes or anomalies, but that would sound off to anyone.

and damn is she ever wishing she'd had her ai with her when she got dragged into whatever anomaly brought her here- if it even would have brought him, too. he might have actually came in hand for a conversation like this. ]

Humanity's from Earth where I come from, too, but we had the Covenant taking over the galaxy, not whoever the Galra are.
