[ yet another new face. but someone familiar with it might recognise that shiro is presently inside the castle of lions. ]

We’ve all been told about the anomalies; I got the welcome package same as everyone else, I assume. But I’m wondering — is this still the same galaxy? The same universe? Before I came here, I was falling through a wormhole.

[ for a moment, his expression shifts from neutral to something sad, almost pained. it doesn’t last very long. he wishes he knew where the rest of his team was, whether they’re all right. at least allura is here, but pidge, keith, hunk and lance? he can only hope they're okay, and the forced inactivity doesn't sit well with him. ] I come from a planet called Earth, but I recently learned that there are a lot of space-faring races in the galaxy and that most of the galaxy has already been taken over by the Galra.

Does any of this sound familiar?

[ from what he's seen on the network so far, the question will likely be answered in the negative, and so a moment later he adds: ] If it doesn’t, and this is another universe, — any ideas on how to get back?

Galra?

[ That's new. Sam frowns, but try though he might, he can't recall any group of people by that name. ]

There were two groups in my time, but the Galra wasn't one of them. What are they?

[bayarm]

[ shiro, meanwhile, doesn't have to think very long at all, though he wouldn't consider himself an expert on the galra. ] They're an alien race. Tall, purple, sometimes scaley. Where I'm from, the Galra Empire has taken over most of the known universe.

[andreios]

Organics, then? Not machines?

[ Because if this is some new kind of Cylon... ]

[bayarm]

They have robots they call Sentinels that they use to guard and patrol their ships, but the Galra are flesh and blood. [ and that's an odd question to ask, to shiro's mind, so — ] Why?

[andreios]

[ And that sounds like centurions. Frak. ]

It's a long story. [ Very long. ] But where—when I'm from, humanity finally achieved peace with its old enemy and discovered a new Earth. If that Earth and yours is the same, I worry that maybe they didn't find a safe planet to colonize.

[bayarm]

If humans have colonized the new Earth, wouldn't they be advanced space-farers? Or was that knowledge lost somehow?

[ without the full story, shiro doesn't know what precisely is wrong, but it's clear that the possibility is bothering this guy. admittedly: that's a healthy reaction to the galra empire. ]

[andreios]

They were. Technology was blamed for a lot of the problems they faced. And rightly so, in many cases.

[ He sighs, pensive. ]

Their advanced technology was destroyed in the hope of starting again.

[bayarm]

Then I can't promise that it isn't the same Earth.

[ he wishes he had better news. ]

[andreios]

[ Sam did not die for this. ]

It wouldn't be the first time they thought they broke the cycle only to discover they didn't. I just hoped... [ He sighs again. ] Do the Galra have resurrection technology?

[bayarm]

Not that I know of.

[ and shiro thinks of leaving it there, but — ] They do have druids, and they're collecting something called Quintessence. Life force.

[andreios]

So they're trying to develop it.

[ There's no help for it. ]

Does the term Cylon mean anything to you?

[bayarm]

I've never heard of it. Is that what the old enemy you mentioned is called?

[andreios]

Yeah. A race of machines originally created by humans. Guess that's a good thing you haven't heard of them.

[bayarm]

Sounds like it. That's definitely not the Galra, though.

[andreios]

That's a relief. Though I wish humanity could've caught a break.

[bayarm]

Humanity is still safe. The Galra haven't gotten to Earth yet.

[andreios]

What's the likelihood of them getting there?

[bayarm]

They won't, if we stop them.

[ "if". but they've managed so far, at least. ]

[andreios]

What's your defense look like? I might be able to come up with some ways to strengthen it that you could take back with you.

[ If they figure out how to get back. ]

[bayarm]

I'm guessing you've never heard of Voltron?

[andreios]

No. What is it?

[bayarm]

It's a weapon. A robot capable of fighting in space and planet-side formed of other robots. As far as we know, it's the only thing that stands a chance against the Galra Empire.

[andreios]

I've never heard of anything like that. There are weaponized Cylons, but they're single entities. They can't join together to form new ones.

[bayarm]

Nothing like that, I think. It's five lions that together form Voltron.

[andreios]

Five lions turn into a robot? [ A beat. ] We definitely don't have anything like that where I'm from.
