[ yet another new face. but someone familiar with it might recognise that shiro is presently inside the castle of lions. ]
We’ve all been told about the anomalies; I got the welcome package same as everyone else, I assume. But I’m wondering — is this still the same galaxy? The same universe? Before I came here, I was falling through a wormhole.
[ for a moment, his expression shifts from neutral to something sad, almost pained. it doesn’t last very long. he wishes he knew where the rest of his team was, whether they’re all right. at least allura is here, but pidge, keith, hunk and lance? he can only hope they're okay, and the forced inactivity doesn't sit well with him. ] I come from a planet called Earth, but I recently learned that there are a lot of space-faring races in the galaxy and that most of the galaxy has already been taken over by the Galra.
Does any of this sound familiar?
[ from what he's seen on the network so far, the question will likely be answered in the negative, and so a moment later he adds: ] If it doesn’t, and this is another universe, — any ideas on how to get back?
( ooc; and for all your ooc plotting needs, shiro on the intro/cr meme! )

[ Because for as much as the crew on the ship isn't all that helpful, occasionally the map on the comms gets pings of where they are and none of those numbers look familiar to Maine and he's been in a lot of space. ]
might as well get used to being here.
no way off or out just yet.

[ but that addendum isn't filling shiro with hope and optimism, precisely. still, he tries: ] What have you tried so far? Maybe there's something else.
no subject
not much
but i don't care about trying to go back, either.
no subject
[ hasty, or needlessly negative. but the honesty is appreciated. ]
no subject
not hard to listen or find shit out.
not saying there isn't a way, just being realistic that there isn't right now.
you think we'd all be here if there was an easy fix?
no subject
How many people are here that don't want to be? The video wasn't that specific.
no subject
can't say i took a survey.
[ But, he'll answer as best as he knows. ]
seems like most people are here from the anomalies.
which would point at a large percentage of the ship.
no subject
Maybe someone should. [ maybe shiro will. but for now, that answer is enough. so, after a moment: ] Been here long?
no subject
good luck getting straight answers out of everyone.
[ More power to you, dude. It's probably not going to work out all that well. ]
showed up here about twenty-six days ago.
so not that long, no.
no subject
Not much faith in humanity, or is there a particular reason you're saying that?
That's longer than the maybe four hours I've been here.
no subject
both.
when you've seen and done the shit i have, faith doesn't factor in anymore.
but a lot of people aren't great with sharing info beyond blaming anomalies and changing the subject.
you'll find that out pretty quick.
no subject
Something to look forward to, then.
no subject
if that's the sort of thing you like.
[ w e i r d o. ]
no subject
also that was sarcasm, maine, c'mon. ] Not particularly.

He knows it was. When a guy can't talk, he becomes pretty good at reading between the lines. Joke attempt: FAILED. ]
could be if you like statistics and hearing the same shit over and over again.
no subject
[ there were all kinds, in the garrison. even pidge likes statistics a whole lot more than shiro does. ]
no subject
now you know why it's not the best strategy to take.

considering there's enough people here from anomalies, there's probably at least one to take over survey duties.
no subject
We'll see.

if you're so concerned, do it yourself.
otherwise you have no reason to complain.
