[Zelos doesn’t waste any time once he shows on screen. Very unlike his first post, he’s serious, leaving no room for joking or even a nervous laugh. The only thing he forgot to change is his username. Ignore that.] So, uh, there’s no easy way to do this, but I didn’t want to do it over text… Hear me out for a sec.

I found a body part in a room on my way to the bunks yesterday. There was a ton of blood, and the thing was torn clear off, but I couldn’t find any other parts. [He looks sick just talking about it, frowning somewhere off screen. Purposefully, he leaves Colette out of the story, just in case the blame might be turned on him.] Anyway, I brought it down to medbay and they said they could figure out who it was…

I guess it was some guy named Bodhi Rook. [He looks back to the comm.] But whatever it was that killed him is probably still out there. I was seriously getting the creeps. Any of you guys know what’s going on here? Or know this guy?

...If it helps, a lock of black hair was tied in a bow around his finger. [He doesn’t know if that’s significant, but it sure stood out to him as creepy.] Let me know.

(OOC: This is the first sharing of some event stuff for the groups! Everyone please feel free to have characters ask questions or threadjack or so on. Colette will also be answering replies, and Zelos won't necessarily respond to all of them, so you could get either one as a thread!)

[He waves his free hand defensively, a little bothered.] Besides, I tried to get more info! Every time I walk over there I'm shooed away. I even asked for the guy who sent me the report and they keep telling me he's busy.

All he told me was that the arm was this Bodhi Rook guy's.

Some of his friends are still on board. He went missing a little while ago.

[So he does have friends here. He was kind of hoping he'd be some no name, but that's to tacky to say aloud so he doesn't.]

They didn't tell me a damn thing besides that. It was seriously weird, though. The room was a mess, but the rest of the body was nowhere to be found, and the hallway was spotless. Whoever did this wasn't messing around.

[He's used to seeing horrible things, even if this is a little more graphic than what he's been shoved at before. He feels a little guilty eating up any concern when there's real people probably mourning.

Not really. I kind of left it vague on purpose. The way it's set up makes me think that whatever did it definitely can think past animal instincts, but up here, I guess I don't really know what that means.

[Space animal aliens with thought?? Or someone on board? He's open to all possibilities.]

I'm fine. Kind of sucks for the guys who lost their friend, though... [He's really bad at accepting worry and expressing his own while trying to seem nonchalant.] You didn't know him, did you?

[He recognises that name from the network. The one who believed in heroes, and that dying while acting on it was okay. Twisted irony--at least Reaper keeps himself from laughing.]

Hard to dispose of a body on a ship without directly throwing it out an airlock.

Which means it's still entirely possible the rest of him is around here somewhere.
Where was the arm found? You said 'in a room'.

Either it was abandoned there with purpose, or the rest of him was carried away.

That's kind of what I'm worried about. [Because with all of that blood, there's no way the guy is alive, so where did the rest of him go? Then again, he's seem someone with enough power to completely vaporize a person...]

Some random room, I wrote the number down, hold on. [He gives the number and floor.] But I already went back there, and it's like nothing happened at all. Someone must have cleaned up after we left.

Have the creatures recently brought onto this ship been considered as the possible cause for the man's death? They were quite violent on their world and we've something similar on the one from which I hail. There, the creatures eat people. Perhaps these do the same.

Yeah. Looked like no one even used it. I headed back there right after I turned the arm in, and everything was cleaned up. Talk about creepy, right? Not even a stain or anything.

There wasn't really anything in the room to be damaged. Not even any sheets on the bed. It looked completely brand new, like no one was staying there, but yeah, it was clear there was a struggle.

The blood wasn't some neat pool or anything, you know? Someone struggled.

Where the hell are you getting that this body part belonged to that man in particular? Were there identifying marks, did you take a sample of the black hair from his fingers to see if it identifies anyone in the crew before you handed it over? How was it removed from the body? Clear cut or literally 'torn' as you described?

Maybe you missed the part where I said I brought it down to the only guys who have the equipment to check that stuff in the first place. They did some tests and took a day to get back to me and let me know it was him.

You think I was gonna dissect that stuff myself? Look, I was with someone, and she was freaking out. I wasn't going to start poking at it. Besides, I wouldn't know what to do with the info anyway.

No offense, but I trust the rest of this ship about as much as I trust the people down in medbay. I'd rather take it to the people who have records of everyone here.

I... don't know how much sense it makes to ask, or if you can answer, but with his arm... did it seem recent? Was the blood fresh? Like this had happened to someone still alive at the time, or after he'd died?

( because if they're being held somewhere and murdered after the fact that's a whole different, shitty problem to deal with than body parts and old blood being splashed fresh across places well after postmortem. he doesn't know if any of that is even something easy to figure out. CSI style shows would say sure, but that's fiction. this is reality. it's gritty, it's unhelpful, it's confusing, and he's sick at heart and to his stomach.
