video (forward dated to 2-16) | un: handsome zelos
[Zelos doesn’t waste any time once he shows on screen. Very unlike his first post, he’s serious, leaving no room for joking or even a nervous laugh. The only thing he forgot to change is his username. Ignore that.] So, uh, there’s no easy way to do this, but I didn’t want to do it over text… Hear me out for a sec.
I found a body part in a room on my way to the bunks yesterday. There was a ton of blood, and the thing was torn clear off, but I couldn’t find any other parts. [He looks sick just talking about it, frowning somewhere off screen. Purposefully, he leaves Colette out of the story, just in case the blame might be turned on him.] Anyway, I brought it down to medbay and they said they could figure out who it was…
I guess it was some guy named Bodhi Rook. [He looks back to the comm.] But whatever it was that killed him is probably still out there. I was seriously getting the creeps. Any of you guys know what’s going on here? Or know this guy?
...If it helps, a lock of black hair was tied in a bow around his finger. [He doesn’t know if that’s significant, but it sure stood out to him as creepy.] Let me know.
(OOC: This is the first sharing of some event stuff for the groups! Everyone please feel free to have characters ask questions or threadjack or so on. Colette will also be answering replies, and Zelos won't necessarily respond to all of them, so you could get either one as a thread!)

Where the hell are you getting that this body part belonged to that man in particular? Were there identifying marks, did you take a sample of the black hair from his fingers to see if it identifies anyone in the crew before you handed it over? How was it removed from the body? Clear cut or literally 'torn' as you described?
[ Hello, investigator on the line who's probably about to bitch about the level of detective work around here. ]

You think I was gonna dissect that stuff myself? Look, I was with someone, and she was freaking out. I wasn't going to start poking at it. Besides, I wouldn't know what to do with the info anyway.
No offense, but I trust the rest of this ship about as much as I trust the people down in medbay. I'd rather take it to the people who have records of everyone here.

Unless you had the expertise for it I wouldn't expect a dissection, no. But after the Oros missions and everything else ...
Let's just say I'm not entirely soothed in to thinking that the Eluvio crew will be entirely forthcoming about what's going on and if people are being evoscerated in such a manner - who knows who or what is on the ship doing this.
[ She pauses, and then :] I won't say you're wrong for distrusting people aboard the ship since we all barely know one another, regardless, but there are some people here who know what they're doing.
Out of curiosity ... was it just the limb or.. piece there? No other parts of the body? Or indications that the rest of the body may have been there?

[Like, saying he'll just beat them up isn't really his style, but he's also tired and troubled and hoping it's nothing. Ugh.] I couldn't find anything but the arm. There was a ton of blood all over, a clear struggle, but there weren't even any sheets or items. It was an empty room, and there wasn't anything else in it.
After I gave them the arm, I headed back to check it out, and it was cleaned out completely.

If you weren't planning on treating a body part like a play thing then I don't see how it would be disrespectful. I'd be hesitant without gloves due to possibilities of contaminating evidence, but - [ She hadn't been there to find it, for one, and for two she wouldn't have stumbled upon the scene ready to handle such a thing either. There is an audible sigh on the line as she thinks, tapping something metal on the tabletop like a nervous twitch to help her thoughts move along in a way that made any kind of sense. ] Somehow I don't think self-exacted revenge would do much to help anyone other than the crew to throw you in some form of detention. And considering this is space, who knows what the hell they might do in that case.
And they cleaned it all that fast? Damn. Efficient, but - damn. [ Of course Re-L has to marvel at efficiency, it's nearly in her blood. ]
That means, more than likely, no one would have he time to try and riddle anything out themselves without raising suspicions and the same thing happening if this were to recur ...
[ She clucks her tongue against her teeth, sighing out: ] Frustrating.

If you go out or anything, just try to make sure you stick to a buddy system. Any friends you've got, too.

Unfortunately for some poor fool that is the nature of these situations, yes. [ That much she was quite assured of, and there wasn't much to be done about it. After all, if there was someone killing people on board, she doubted it would simply stop with the death of one lone man on board, unless someone had a particularly bad grudge.
Either way, it was risky without knowing what the Eluvio did with murderers. ]
I'm not too worried about it. I'll carry my rifle with me, if push comes to shove.
