[Abruptly, there's the sound of blades cutting through ice coming from the communicators as the figure skater on screen does a quick lap around what appears to be an ice rink. Then, there's a shift in his center of gravity before he's jumping, landing a triple axel with ease. The air of grace disappears as soon as the figure skater catches sight of the camera pointed at him.]
Viktor! [Some might recognize Yuuri's voice before he glides closer, a look of dismay on his face.] You said you weren't recording yet!
Ah, but Yuuri! You were skating so wonderfully, I couldn't resist! [Viktor doesn't sound apologetic, but as the image shifts, he comes on screen, smiling at the camera and holding up his free hand to wave.] Hello, friends of the Eluvio! Yuuri and I wanted to extend you a formal invitation to Eluvio's skating rink, the Ice Palace.
[Yuuri, apparently having resigned himself to delivering the message this way, just sighs with exasperation as he reaches Viktor at the side of the rink.] Um, we're going to be hosting a short exhibition show on Valentine's Day, too. Viktor thought it'd be a good idea, since a lot of people onboard haven't seen figure skating before. And there's going to be food...? [He trails off, looking at Viktor for confirmation.]
[Viktor nods to confirm, flashing another smile.] Horderves and shaved ice. No chocolates! You'll have to make or bring your own. [This last part said with a wink as he brings his finger up to rest against his lips.]
[Viktor's comment makes Yuuri pause.] Actually, about the chocolates, has anyone managed to find a store that sells chocolate molds? I've been looking all over the Shopping Centre for them. [Then, he remembers why they're making the video in the first place, and he blushes as he steers himself back on track.] A-anyway, please come join us for the exhibition! You're welcome to come earlier and see the rink for yourself before then, too.
[With that, he'll give a shallow, polite sort of bow before reaching over to turn the camera off.]
(ooc: As a note, I'll be posting an open valentines chocolate-making workshop log in a few days, and everyone is welcome to jump in, whether you tag this post or not!)

I warned you we needed to make that announcement...! The opportunity to start simply presented itself. Most of these people have never seen figure skating. Having a visual demonstration to capture their imagination is more stimulating, don't you agree?
( Yuuri doesn't have to imagine that Viktor's giving him a flirtatious look through lowered lashes, one finger resting against his chin while he cants his head to the side. He's not smiling, but ah, there's the slightest upcurve of the corner of his lips. )
no subject
Mm, I guess that's true. [Viktor will probably notice it the moment Yuuri switches on the Eros persona, leaning further into his space with confidence.] But if that's the case, we should've recorded you instead.
[With that, Yuuri ducks out from Viktor's hug with a grin and skates off. He makes it about halfway across the rink before the delayed embarrassment hits him, and he covers his cheeks with his hands. Ahhhhhh.]

Yuuri's tease right back has him blinking, lips curling up into a slow, surprised smile, right before he laughs. )
Yuuri.
( Pressing his hand to his cheek, he allows the small flush of pleasant surprise to simple do as it will, pushing off and taking to skating across the ice in a lazy arc, crossovers keeping him going forward. )
You tease!
( Not that he's being a tease. (He's always a tease, even when he doesn't mean to be.) It's that he's teasing, and Viktor loves it. )

How do you think I felt when you showed up in Hasetsu those first few days?
[Whatever Yuuri just did, they both know it's nothing on the forwardness that Viktor had displayed back then. Still, though... it's unexpectedly fun, getting a reaction out of Viktor like this. Why didn't he do this earlier?]

I thought you were just embarrassed the whole time... I was very hurt, you know? "Victor, you messed up." Which was confusing when I'd believed I'd been invited...
( If Yuuri glances back, Victor has the back of his hand to his forehead in a gesture of resignation, eyes looking up. He goes from that into a spin, arm tucked in close then coming out before he kicks his leg back and serpentines his way out of said spin. Dramatics on ice, but a smile that tugs at his lips in the interim. Messing around just feels so good. )

I still can't decide if I was better off forgetting all of that happened or not. [A quick glance at Viktor, and a soft smile.] I sort of wish I'd remembered dancing with you, though. The rest I don't mind forgetting.
[Especially the pole dancing... he can never think of those pictures without turning into a tomato.]

so Viktor muses, using crossovers to complete a wide turn that ends up as a circle, looping him around and close to Yuuri toward the end. he holds out a hand, waving in passing; an invitation to touch, too, since he keeps his speed lazy, controlled and slow enough not to be injurious. )
Mm, I enjoy remembering all of it. Especially how you'd asked me to be your coach.
( with a private smile; Viktor can't remember ever having someone be so drunk at an official event they'd all but dry humped him surrounded by the business people of their sport and babbled at him in a language he didn't understand, only finally cutting in with the flush faced, upturned button of a nose request: Be my coach, Viktor! )
Dancing, though — dancing is something we can do here. If you want.

…I did what? [He doesn’t remember Chris or Yurio bringing this up at the dinner when the rest of the story had come out. Horror floods through him as Yuuri realizes what this means. His hands fly up to cover his mouth, aghast.] You mean there’s more???
[As if everything he’s heard already hasn’t been embarrassing enough!!]
no subject
I guess there is! Did we not get to telling you about that part...
( He slides his arms around Yuuri's shoulders, leaning his weight against him and saying, speculatively: )
I don't remember how you lost your pants that time, but I think you invited me to the onsen and rubb— hugged me enthusiastically and managed to remember enough English to ask me to be your coach.

Suddenly a lot of things are making a lot more sense. Yuuri gasps.]
Then--you. Hasetsu. You came to Hasetsu because of that?
no subject
( he chuckles; he's far from bothered by this now, in the face of so much else they've had to deal with. )
I'm not sure if the lack of it would have stopped me in the end... but I don't know that I'd have come up with the idea on my own if you hand't voiced it first.
no subject
He makes a little half turn on the ice so he's facing Viktor again.]
What would you have done if the triplets hadn't posted the video?
no subject
Yuuri, why are you chasing after what didn't happen in the past?
no subject
I guess it doesn't matter.
no subject
It matters to you, Yuuri. It's not a question I can answer. I don't think about what didn't happen. I don't know what the me who I'm not would have done. You see?
( he smiles at Yuuri, seeing if he can throw his arms around him and pull him in for a hug, humming contentedly in the back of his throat. )
I saw you. This is my truth. My one and only.
no subject
[Yuuri rests his chin on Viktor's shoulder, fighting back a smile this time.] I can't believe you can say these things so easily.
no subject
Your beautiful, overthinking head. Think I can massage it into behaving for a night?
( here's an impromptu scruffing of Yuuri's hair as Viktor makes his passing reference and movement akin to giving a scalp massage. a gentle sort of joke, because it's nothing that goes away. Yuuri has better days and worse days. by and large, he handles both perfectly well on his own. he doesn't need Viktor for any of that.
but he likes ot believe that he can at least help Yuuri by being there for him. for standing by his side and believing in him even here, even when the parameters of their sport have been redefined. )
no subject
He turns his head, brushing his lips against Viktor's cheek before pulling away.] I don't know if it'll work, but you're welcome to try.
[Smiling, Yuuri tugs Viktor along with him as he skates backward.] Back to training? We still have a lot to run through.
no subject
Is the student telling the coach he needs to train harder? Goodness, how harsh.
( all said with a wink; to be honest, at this point if anything it ends up being a mutual feedback loop. not without snarls or a fair share of critical review. then again, it wouldn't make sense to have none of that.
not when they're both perfectionists. whoops. but for now... to training they both go! )
