[Abruptly, there's the sound of blades cutting through ice coming from the communicators as the figure skater on screen does a quick lap around what appears to be an ice rink. Then, there's a shift in his center of gravity before he's jumping, landing a triple axel with ease. The air of grace disappears as soon as the figure skater catches sight of the camera pointed at him.]

Viktor! [Some might recognize Yuuri's voice before he glides closer, a look of dismay on his face.] You said you weren't recording yet!

Ah, but Yuuri! You were skating so wonderfully, I couldn't resist! [Viktor doesn't sound apologetic, but as the image shifts, he comes on screen, smiling at the camera and holding up his free hand to wave.] Hello, friends of the Eluvio! Yuuri and I wanted to extend you a formal invitation to Eluvio's skating rink, the Ice Palace.

[Yuuri, apparently having resigned himself to delivering the message this way, just sighs with exasperation as he reaches Viktor at the side of the rink.] Um, we're going to be hosting a short exhibition show on Valentine's Day, too. Viktor thought it'd be a good idea, since a lot of people onboard haven't seen figure skating before. And there's going to be food...? [He trails off, looking at Viktor for confirmation.]

[Viktor nods to confirm, flashing another smile.] Horderves and shaved ice. No chocolates! You'll have to make or bring your own. [This last part said with a wink as he brings his finger up to rest against his lips.]

[Viktor's comment makes Yuuri pause.] Actually, about the chocolates, has anyone managed to find a store that sells chocolate molds? I've been looking all over the Shopping Centre for them. [Then, he remembers why they're making the video in the first place, and he blushes as he steers himself back on track.] A-anyway, please come join us for the exhibition! You're welcome to come earlier and see the rink for yourself before then, too.

[With that, he'll give a shallow, polite sort of bow before reaching over to turn the camera off.]

( With the camera off, and Yuuri straightening out of his bow, Viktor winds an arm around his waist and tugs him into a slightly leaning hug. Honestly, he just wants to drape right now, but they should be getting back to practice.

Pressing a kiss to Yuuri's temple, Viktor smles. )

Leaves us to work on the whole practicing part, hm?

( Viktor's been ostensibly practicing Stammi Vicino, Non Te Ne Andare for said exhibition, and oh does he feel the pleasant burn of it through his body, all the while switching things up to practice part of a completely different choreography. For the fun of it, eh says. )

[He almost rolls his eyes. Almost. As it is, he eyes Viktor with fond exasperation, even if he doesn't shake him off.]

Speak for yourself. I was practicing before you started filming without warning.

( He laughs, giving Yuuri's shoulder a squeeze before he disengages. True enough. )

I warned you we needed to make that announcement...! The opportunity to start simply presented itself. Most of these people have never seen figure skating. Having a visual demonstration to capture their imagination is more stimulating, don't you agree?

( Yuuri doesn't have to imagine that Viktor's giving him a flirtatious look through lowered lashes, one finger resting against his chin while he cants his head to the side. He's not smiling, but ah, there's the slightest upcurve of the corner of his lips. )

...What is Valentine's Day?

[ He has multiple questions and there are conversations happening he is trying to ignore so. Help him out, folks. ]

[Yuuri narrows his eyes. Ever since they actually sat down and talked, he's been a bit more attuned to the little nuances of Viktor's mood--or rather, it's that he's actually making an effort to pay attention now.]

Mm, I guess that's true. [Viktor will probably notice it the moment Yuuri switches on the Eros persona, leaning further into his space with confidence.] But if that's the case, we should've recorded you instead.

[With that, Yuuri ducks out from Viktor's hug with a grin and skates off. He makes it about halfway across the rink before the delayed embarrassment hits him, and he covers his cheeks with his hands. Ahhhhhh.]

Ah, Captain! [Yuuri's honestly happy to see the message from Cassian--if anyone could use some cheering up, Cassian is definitely one of them.]

It's a holiday that we celebrate back on Earth. Um, actually, I don't think everyone celebrates it, but a lot of cultures do now. It's a day for showing your love for your lover. Or for asking someone to be your lover. [He adds, thinking of the Japanese traditions associated with this holiday.]

[ Blink. ]

The holiday comprises of chocolates?

[It takes a second for Yuuri to realize why this is so strange to Cassian, and then he smiles.]

Oh--yeah, I forgot it wouldn't make sense to people who've grown up with it. Chocolate is a really common gift for that day. In Japan, there's a whole structure to the chocolate-giving, too.

[ Well his exposure to chocolate has been ...very limited. ]

So you just give chocolate to someone else and that is your declaration of interest?

Mmm it's a little more complicated than that.

[Yuuri tilts his head, studying Cassian with interest.] Is there someone you're thinking of giving chocolate to, Captain?

You'll forgive me if I keep my answer vague.

[ Or just limited to that sentence in general. But he does smile a little. ]

I don't know how much appreciated my attempts will be but I am willing to find out.

( He notices, heart skipping a beat as he unconsciously holds his breath. Yuuri is fascinating in and of himself... Viktor's never quite sure what to expect, and even when he thinks he knows, he finds often enough that he wasn't quite right.

Yuuri's tease right back has him blinking, lips curling up into a slow, surprised smile, right before he laughs. )

Yuuri.

( Pressing his hand to his cheek, he allows the small flush of pleasant surprise to simple do as it will, pushing off and taking to skating across the ice in a lazy arc, crossovers keeping him going forward. )

You tease!

( Not that he's being a tease. (He's always a tease, even when he doesn't mean to be.) It's that he's teasing, and Viktor loves it. )

[Even if he has no idea who it is, Yuuri brightens up visibly.]

That's great, Captain! I can explain how the chocolate-giving works in Japan if you want to hear about it.

( Victor laughs, waving to Cassian over the video feed. )

Captain Andor! No, no, it's so much more! It's a day for romance and flowers and lovely intimate dinners with the person you love. Chocolates can be a gift, like anything else you know they'll enjoy. It's a wonderful time to celebrate how much you love someone! More romantically than anything else, but love is love. Celebrating any kind is worth it, no?

( He winks, though ahahaha he's been talking romantic love. )

Now, I say you give your mysterious Valentine a chance, yes? Treat them ( her ) to something special for the both of you.

[ How do YOU not know but your husband? Boyfriend? Person of interest? Knows? Cassian is confused. ]

I would like that a lot, thank you.

[Because!! Because... maybe he'll actually catch on once he sees you two together.]

There's two different types of chocolate for Valentine's Day in Japan--"giri-choco" and "honmei-choco". The first one is given to friends or people you work with often. The second one is the one you want, for the person you have romantic feelings for.

[He stops to catch his breath and... then rubs at his cheek sheepishly.] That probably was really confusing, wasn't it?

Romance, flowers, and intimate dinners. [ He's pretty sure he can manage that, though he's also sure if he handed Jyn a flower she'd be like and what am I supposed to do with this? so that. Might turn into gifting the room with a plant. ]

I think I can manage that.

What is the difference between the two kinds of chocolate other than the names and their purpose? Is there another difference? Or is it all in the intent.

[ Cassian shrugs. ] Any new culture can be confusing.

As long as it's special for you and — the one you intend it to be for. That's the important part. Communicating the emotion of what you feel, in a way they can understand.

( Smile. Smile. Sideglance to Yuuri. More determined smile. )

Katsuki!! Well done! [He shouts out as if he's a coach on the sidelines.] So we have ourselves an ice rink... I'll have to check it out!

[He picks at his ear as he goes on.]

Your valentines idea sounds pretty unorthodox, if you're asking all of us to make chocolate. ...But I guess it makes sense. There aren't many girls in outer space!!

[ Cassian gives a little laugh. ] That might be harder than imagined, actually.

Nidai-san! It's been a while. Viktor and I should be practicing for a while longer if you want to see the rink today.

[He smiles, just a touch bashfully.]

Well, not exactly. I'm the one making chocolate since, well, neither Viktor or I are girls and I'm more familiar with the Japanese traditions.

( He has to actually look away from his obvious sideglance at Yuuri, laughing a little, giving Cassian something of an Understanding Look. )

Yes, it can be. It's still worth making the effort.

Is that so? Now that's an opportunity that I can't pass up!!

[Then, more quietly.]

I see... Y'know, I should have also taken into account that other parts of the world do it differently. That said... Are the two of you a couple?!

[He doesn't seem too surprised by the possibility, but he's still loud about it.]

( Enter: the Russian. Who mostly laughs and waves to Nekomaru. )

Nekomaru! We must go skating! As for all this with the chocolates... it's a very interesting tradition you have in Japan! In Russia, we give everyone chocolates. I'm enamoured of there being two holidays for the same idea of an exchange!

( he also does not get it but that's okay, he still loves you guys )
