[ Cullen isn't one for small talk and he doesn't take pleasure in hearing himself speak for the fun of it. His written missives are usually short and to the point; though this format is vastly different from what's available in Thedas, he allows habit to guide him.

There's the faintest of frowns on his face when he begins. This is his first time attempting to use the bizarre device and though he's been instructed on its use, he's not entirely convinced. ]

Are there any here who might be willing to check in on my hound for a short time?

[ It's so awkward talking to no one and having no idea who might hear him. ]

I've volunteered to serve on one of the teams being sent to the world below us and it would set my mind at ease to know he is not alone while I'm gone.

[ He's not 100% sure the terminology is correct—how this ship is sailing above a world is baffling—but he's trying. ]

[ Odd as this monologue is, Cullen does agree with the first part of it. That is precisely what a mabari is. ]

Two have offered their services already, though he is a mabari and requires more attention than an average dog. If you'd like to spend time with him, I'd be happy to arrange it. I shouldn't want anyone to be overwhelmed by him.

Tch. I hardly doubt anything like a furry beast can overwhelm me.

Oh yes. He enjoys it quite a lot.

[ At this point, recognizing that he's the subject of conversation, Pup moves into the camera's field of view and barks once in greeting. ]

He's.. bigger than I thought he would be! What is it you feed him to look like that?

Pup's a mabari. They are all relatively similar in size. It's said that they were originally created by mages. Perhaps it is magic that has made them so large.

_{[ oh my god.. that's kind of cool, and Karamatsu is completely gullible, it's easy for him to believe something like this (even though it's true) without question. ]}

Do you think.. there is anyway I can get a hold of that magic too?

Legend says that it was Tevinter mages who made the breed. And there is a Tevinter magister aboard this vessel.

[ His eyebrows rise. It's possible Dorian knows more about the magical side of the mabari's history. ]

His name is Dorian Pavus. Perhaps you might speak with him.

There's a mage on this ship that's quite adept at magic. However, I doubt he can alter one's physical body in that manner.
