[ Yet another new face to greet the network, and likely not for the first time, it's the face of someone who's clearly bent over backwards to try and figure out where he is and how he got here. To no avail, evidently. He's stranded, pretty much, he's managed to figure that much out.

But that's not even what's the most puzzling about all this. You see, traveling across the galaxy has made him more prone to accept that he can get snatched up, either on purpose or by accident, or even that he might trip over some dimension-breaking wormhole and end up in an alternate reality.

At least this one doesn't have another version of him (so far), so there's that.

But anyway. Onto trying to figure some things out, at least. ]

This is Captain James T. Kirk, of the USS Enterprise. I understand that likely means nothing to most of you, if not everyone, but I'll make it quick: the Enterprise is the flagship of the United Federation of Planets, operated by Starfleet, from the 23rd century, year 2263.

[ He'll skip on explaining the Federation or Starfleet for now. If anyone asks then he'll get into more detail. More pressing matters, though. ]

My ship is here, but my crew is not. Not unless I'm missing something, and if anyone can tell me where should I go to look for them, then I'd appreciate it. I... welcome the help of the Eluvio crew being on board to help me run my ship, [ No he doesn't. ] but I'd much rather have my crew, as you can likely imagine.

[ He sighs quietly, a show of frustration more than anything else. ]

On an unrelated note, would anyone mind taking a couple of hours to explain to me how currency works? I'm not... used to handling it. I'm crap at it too, if we're being completely honest. [ Seriously, does he really have to have a job? Ugh. ]

Other than that... well, I guess we're all stuck here, so I'd like to get to know everyone to some degree. So hit me up and let's chat sometime.

[ There, harmless and vague enough. And with a friendly smile, he leans in to end the feed. ]

Not sure I have any favorites yet. It's... strange. Feels more like a pleasure cruiser than a science vessel.

Places you know well, then. And yes, I got that impression too. Reminds me more of a starbase than a ship.

I thought that's how we ended up here. Their hyperdrive malfunctioned or something and we got sucked in.

[ He sounds a bit wishy-washy about that. Don't ask him for technical details. ]

If that's even what powers this ship. I haven't seen anything even remotely similar to a warp drive so far, but it's not like they let us look around most of the areas on the ship. Although that's weird, isn't it? I've never heard of a warp drive having that kind of malfunction.

[ Evidently he has no idea that Luke isn't talking about a warp drive when he mentions 'hyperdrive'. ]

I haven't been down to their engineer deck either, so I have no idea.

[ Luke squints at his communicator. ]

Wait, what's a warp drive?

So far as I know, you can't. The hangar is the only accessible area even remotely close as far as navigation and control goes.

[ And it's still pretty far from it, so. ]

The... hyperdrive. I figured that's what you meant, wasn't it?

Oh. Uh, sort of? Never heard of a warp drive. Just hyperdrives. They're probably pretty similar, though.

[ I.E. they both move at the speed of plot. ]

[ Well hyperdrives move to a speedier plot but yes. ]

Beats me. [ A pause, then he adds. ] Your ship doesn't happen to have a hyperdrive, does it? I wouldn't mind checking it out. Mine has a warp drive, for the record, if you ever feel like taking a look sometime.

[ Nothing like seeing it to spot the differences, right? ]

My X-Wing? Sure does! Come on down to the hangar sometime and I'll let you take a look at it.

[ Luke is far too friendly for his own good. ]

[ Guess Luke is also lucky that Jim's such a good guy who won't mess with his ship. ]

Great. I'll do that, then, thanks. I look forward to seeing how it works. [ Though he's almost sure it doesn't actually work here, much like the warp drive on the Enterprise. ] Likewise, by the way, if you ever wanna visit my ship.
