hello it is me again
regarding the recent announcement and what i heard two days ago i think it is possible that we will be seeing conflict in the near future as i suspect some form of rescue is taking place
as some of us who have been drawn in by this ship's systems malfunction seem to be civilians if anyone is interested in combat training please see myself or marco for basic instruction
alternatively if anyone else experienced is willing to tutor it would be appreciated as i am unaccustomed to fighting when humanoid and am unsure if i would be able to teach constructively

That was the ship's captain making the announcement earlier, wasn't it? Has anyone been able to contact him or his subordinates for clarification? The shop keeps seem relaxed enough with this business.
( as in not breaking out the plasma guns or whatever else is actually real in this space-society he's been shoved into alongside the rest of the newest arrivals. )

then they will be able to stay out of the way while those of us who can fight do so

You don't feel this might be overreacting?
( genuinely asking. he means it when he says literally none of the people he talks to who aren't crewmembers, but other working staff on ship, show any concern for the shift to warp drive. )

there does not seem to be much sense of emergency on the ship but what i heard sounded very urgent and in my experience it is always better to prepare for the worst
[Also he's encountered aliens who are weirdly incapable of panic before.]

Okay, is there anywhere even safe to do that in? People who aren't used to certain activities aren't going to have the learned responses required not to hurt themselves or others in a short period of time. You'll be clear about that, right?
I agree it's better to prepare. Which might be why I'm more concerned about things like spaceship evacuations or dealing with whatever things might happen to a ship like this if its systems go down! Whatever that might even mean.

[It'll be tight but eh.]

( all that means is HUG PILES clearly )

[Read: nope.]

[Actually he's been pretty bored. Hence jumping at the chance to play drill sergeant.]
