hello it is me again

regarding the recent announcement and what i heard two days ago i think it is possible that we will be seeing conflict in the near future as i suspect some form of rescue is taking place

as some of us who have been drawn in by this ship's systems malfunction seem to be civilians if anyone is interested in combat training please see myself or marco for basic instruction

alternatively if anyone else experienced is willing to tutor it would be appreciated as i am unaccustomed to fighting when humanoid and am unsure if i would be able to teach constructively

I don't know that a short period of intensive training with people unused to any kind of combat is helpful so much as teaching them how to keep out of the way and safe, if what you suspect this was proves true.

That was the ship's captain making the announcement earlier, wasn't it? Has anyone been able to contact him or his subordinates for clarification? The shop keeps seem relaxed enough with this business.

( as in not breaking out the plasma guns or whatever else is actually real in this space-society he's been shoved into alongside the rest of the newest arrivals. )

In that case, it's worth changing how you frame things. Combat tends to sound like you're expecting to show people how to fight instead of how to stay out of harm's way. Anyone showing up expecting to be handed a weapon is going to be disappointed. Or I hope they will be if they don't have training in weapons handling. Evacuation and suit drills might make more sense? That seems like a spaceship thing to do.

You don't feel this might be overreacting?

( genuinely asking. he means it when he says literally none of the people he talks to who aren't crewmembers, but other working staff on ship, show any concern for the shift to warp drive. )
genice: (oh | really)

( to be fair, the androids no one knows are androids could in fact be those very kind of alien. ... as it is, however, they've got a hell of a lot of very chill humans on ship? )

Okay, is there anywhere even safe to do that in? People who aren't used to certain activities aren't going to have the learned responses required not to hurt themselves or others in a short period of time. You'll be clear about that, right?

I agree it's better to prepare. Which might be why I'm more concerned about things like spaceship evacuations or dealing with whatever things might happen to a ship like this if its systems go down! Whatever that might even mean.

There! What a great idea! So are you going to coordinate that evacuation drill? I'm presuming you already have their full permission and stated desire to cooperate.

( all that means is HUG PILES clearly )

( ax he's onto you enough by now that he says: )

Really?
genice: (unimpressed | the hell)

Assuming you have permission to intrude on a friend is one thing. I'm not going to presume you're not friends with these other pilots with their ships, but it's polite to ask before making plans that rely on them cooperating without them knowing.

No one likes the wrong kind of surprise!

He counts as the friend kind of intrusion, I'm taking it. And the other pilot?
genice: (curious | hmm?)

Then it should be simple to ask him to help figure out these particular details.

( what don't you want a gay figure skating Russian dad isn't that on the bucket list )

Glad to hear it!

So when are the evacuation drills going to start?
genice: (neutral | did not see you there)

Is anyone's schedule here so inflexible as all that?
genice: (smile | with my makkachin plush)

Ah, then you must have plenty of time to figure that out!
