First, I want to know how many people are familiar with ninja and the shinobi world.

Second, I’m interested in increasing my knowledge when it comes to the technology on the ship.

Third, in connection with the second point, is there a way to stop others from being able to send messages to your communicator? Stopping all of them temporarily would also be acceptable.

Wow, shut down for even a normal, polite social exchange of names... what must it be like, to be a ninja and assume someone on this network would be a high level engineer with access to information that would help explain these anomalies or what might be manipulated to send us elsewhere?

Specifying what you want help with at the start helps. Anyway, this comm network is accessible to everyone on ship, though for some reason only those of us relatively new, since oh... let me see. This is March, by my ship calendar, so since December? Three months ago. Those of us arriving since about three months ago are the most consistent users of the communicators.

I've never heard of Japan but from what I can tell the spoken language is the same as that of my world.

More like, I think the idea of your profession in popular culture is really cool! Only that the reality is you probably are asked to do terrible things. Fiction and reality are usually not so kind to each other, but I can admit to preferring the romance. Still, as I said, I don't know anything about your particular culture. I'd be really interested to learn!

Yes, I rather suspected that would be true. Which is why the romance is a nice little fiction, and only a fiction.

Good to know. Interesting, too, since I think I've only run into a handful of different world language crosses like that? One for English, too, which is a primary language or secondary language in several nations on my homeworld.

No, I'm not. Being disappointed in another man's reality is a poor decision to make. I am curious. I'd love to hear about what your world experience has been like.

It isn't. I'm not sure what is, but I'd say you'll find that while a number of people speak and write English, there's also a number who speak and write in Japanese, or in the language from your world that seems to be a close cousin. It's a good thing our comm units have their own power sources, but it makes me wonder what happens if something interferes with those?

Schedules work well for me. If you don't mind canine company, mornings would work, but with the ship still largely being nonfunctional my schedule's free around general endurance and toning training.

My schedule is also open; I can move my own training around as needed. The only thing set in stone is unavailability between 1400 and 1500. [ That... is his nap time. ]
