What waits for you, back where you came from?

You can be as specific or nonspecific as you like, really. A person, a place, a thing, a concept, a task. A belief. A dream.

Nothing.

I'm just curious, I guess.

Also, for those who don't wish to give out even vaguely personal information to unknown strangers in an unknown place: how many of you are from pre-spaceflight planets?

So the crew keeps informing me. It's not that I don't think they're telling the truth. I just would rather be home than learning how to adapt in space.

Still, this is where I am! So I'll adapt, and I'll see if there isn't some kind of solution for getting back to the life I was leading before. I have enough apologies to make by the time I get back even now. I imagine they'll only get harder to swallow the longer I'm gone.

I'll be lucky if he takes me back. I'm not sure anyone is going to believe "I was abducted but the aliens were human too for the most part."

Though the more I've talked with the crew here, the less it seems anyone ever goes back. Away, yes, if you stay behind or find another ship or, apparently, die. Yet they all say the anomalies only go one way. People show up, but they don't go missing. So they say!

Location might be less of a problem than the time, but thanks for the positive thinking.

Not yet. No one's had a time estimate, just "for long enough." Doesn't mean someone won't have a better idea.

( he chooses to believe Yuri is more of an optimist, but it sure isn't going to be an easy conversation at first when he's as anxious as he is, and they hadn't even talked about what would happen after the GPF... )

So do I. Finding better people to ask seems like a logical step, but anyone ranked has been out of reach for anywhere I've been. Not that I expected otherwise. It's just frustrating, on top of being told this is normal enough that the ship's prepared to assign us to work at random and that "this has proven to work best historically."
