What waits for you, back where you came from?

You can be as specific or nonspecific as you like, really. A person, a place, a thing, a concept, a task. A belief. A dream.

Nothing.

I'm just curious, I guess.

Also, for those who don't wish to give out even vaguely personal information to unknown strangers in an unknown place: how many of you are from pre-spaceflight planets?

Which makes it equally likely I've never heard of your own home... world.

We all come from homeworlds now. I keep being surprised at how science fiction my life's gotten over the last week and some.

That would be nice. I'd love to see what beaches look like in other planets.

[ it's more of a curiosity thing, really! maybe the water is made of acid. who knows!! ]

Well, many of them look like humans now. But when they were created by them thousands of years ago, they looked like machines.

It's an interesting fact about yourself, after all. A captain of what? A boat, or a spaceship like this one? Just imagining the possibilities gives me chills. Could it be that you're like the hero in a story?

Fufu, but I know that heroes don't really exist. So why don't you tell me about who you really are?

To hold nothing would be the most free kind of being. One could simply live life as it is.

What do you hold, Cpt Andor?

[Note to self: the captain is shy.]

You know, I should hope not either. After all, a hero isn't someone normal. They're murderers, covered in the blood of their victims, claiming it's justified. It's so disgusting that it makes me sick.

But you seem like a nice person, captain. Is that right?

Fufu, you're supposed to say something like "I am a nice person!" Don't be so modest. We're all stuck here together, you know?

I'm glad someone does. It isn't in my nature.

Aha! I just realized! There's no more "Master Sanzo, come lead our temple" while I'm here. I will keep nothing. It suits me better.

Fufu is laughter. You know, fu fu fu ✰ like that. Did you want me to call you Fufu? That's an odd nickname to construct from your name and title, but its quirkiness makes it a little cute... Maybe that's what I'll call you, after all. Fufu. ♪

When you say "seem" back to me like that, it makes it sound like I shouldn't believe you. That's the difference, you see? For example, what if I were to say that a planet seems like it might have oxygen. Would you step out onto it? That would be quite the adventurous move. But if I were to say it has oxygen, you'd trust me a lot sooner~

It's a pretty popular one isn't it ... I like the sounds of it myself

What waits for you?
