[ When the feed click on, Tony manages to look annoyed and impressed all at once (you know, those emotions that he manages to bring out in other people pretty much all the time). He is sitting at a desk, the communicator propped up against something, and he has a small screwdriver (the micro kind) between his teeth as he speaks.]

So just how much shit am I going to get in if I try to take this apart and merge it with my Stark Phone? Not that I really care about how much shit I get in, but-- I mean, it is shiny new alien tech and you just gave it to me, you gotta know I'm gonna try taking it apart.

[ And figuring out ways to hack it. And make it better. And--

He takes the micro screwdriver out of his mouth and flashes a sharp smile.]

Also, as far as kidnappings go, this has gotta be one of the nicer ones, so no complaints here. Though I gotta know; anywhere I can get my hands on some more tools? Maybe a spare communicator, or three, or maybe an interface with the ship's core navigational systems...

[ That last one is said with only the slightest hint of 'I'm kidding' (because he isn't kidding, he is going to look for one no matter how much he has already been told 'NO', that's just like taunting him ok).]

Oh, and where might I find alcohol? Is that a thing in this section of space? I hope it is because I really don't want to try distilling my own shit again, that was a disaster the first three times and I really don't think I have managed to get better.

Huh, point. Sorry about that though, that-- uh, sucks. Being dead. Granted, this isn't the first time I have died and managed to not actually be dead, which is why I am suspicious about this whole thing.

[ Don't ask, okay. He has lived through the end of the universe more than once and he is just getting tired of this shit now. But at least here things seem to be less likely to end in massive amounts of bloodshed, and no one has demanded that he make shit for them, so really, all is well.

Uh, sorry. I-- um, I have created multiple AI's. Robotics and engineering is kind of my thing. You should meet FRIDAY. When the phone works again.

No idea, just got the designation. I need to learn how to roller skate first.

[ And cue Tony's desire to adopt and protect the smols. Sorry Clary. ]

Dead and then not being dead is a talent. [If droids could shrug, this one jus--oh right, he can. He shrugged. Just an entire lift of his torso but it was still a shrug.]

[his head tilted though, hearing the man prattle on about AIs and programming.] I am a KX-series Security Droid. We are programmed to do one job and one job only. My behavioral inhibitors have been reactivated however, allowing me to... learn what I want. Yes. I suppose it can be overwritten, though I am unsure why I would want to do that. My Captain reprogrammed me when he was young. I have had some time to develop, if that is what you are referring to.

[His head actually tilted, just a bit, white photoreceptors staring at the image.] You have an AI in your phone? [Is that like Sam? Could it be put into a body? Interesting.]

But can you rate this kidnapping on an appropriate but humorous scale? Like four out of five fun looking ransom notes.

[it's kinder to focus on that, Jughead figures, than to open with how to you mess up distilling that many times.]

[Bored in the recovery wing, Maes has been scrolling through the videos because he is bored and curious...which is often a bad combination.]

Can't be of much help finding any of that stuff you just said...but if you do locate some alcohol I could really use a drink after all of this.

[He gestures vaguely, is he talking about the abduction? being in the recovery ward? something more? Who knows. But the man definitely LOOKS like he could use a drink.]

[ FRIDAY will love having someone else to sass the Boss with. It is one of her favourite past times. When she isn't actively running his life of course, which she doesn't do now because, well, space.]

[ Tony thinks its annoying at this point but, whatever, he isn't dead. Again. And now he is in space, but at least he has his suit and his AI and really it could be worse, even if he does have to be a rollerskating waiter at a diner.

As Kay talks, Tony listens. Intently. Probably more than he does when most people talk because, well, to him that is super interesting. Because the fact that you are technically programmed to do one thing, but have gone on to do others? That's pretty amazing. And kind of makes him want to know what your coding looks like, but --]

[ Because he can as questions to this captain a lot nicer than he can pick at Kay's brain. Literally.]

Yeah, she is. I have kind shut it off right now, she's in the suit. [ He gestures over his shoulder, shifting to show the red and gold armour that is standing in the corner. ] And he usually has a holographic presence, but, not here. Yet. I'm working on that.

Hence the need for tools.

[ It has more to do with the fact that he is prone to mixing up distilling projects with other more temperamental projects and-- well the one time he was also trying to recreate Asgardian mead and... yeah.

Tony might smirk a little at that though before thinking.]

I would give it 5 out of 3 Chesterfields in Space. And point five of a panic towel.

[ Because clearly the most relevant thing to him is Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. ]

[ There is a sympathetic wince on Tony's face because, it doesn't matter what end of the universe you are in, med bays suck.

Which is why he often refuses to go to them.]

I have been pointed in the general direction of alcohol. And, let me tell you, I am master at smuggling alcohol into places it shouldn't be.

[ Like his house. Or the suit that one time. Or-- well he wasn't an alcoholic for nothing.]

If you're gonna be stuck there, want me to bring you some? It comes with my amazing bedside manner and probably a lot of yelling.

The electronics look navigable enough. Depending on what you mean by "Stark Phone."

[Sorry, Tony, he doesn't sound terribly impressed. The assessment isn't unsure, but there's certainly a derisive note in it. But as he moves on, there's something about the image of Tony biting on a screwdriver that leaves him amused. It's familiar. (His mother used to hate it when he did that.)]

I downloaded the apps to my subsystems earlier, and everything seems fine. [ a tiny grin. ] 'Course I haven't tried to take it apart yet.

[ Yet. "Everything seems fine," says the guy whose last questionable download led to disaster. ]

So long as you're okay with the tech department taking their damn time replacing your shit when you screw around with it, have a fucking hay-day with it.

Touch-screen technology is backwater as hell. Had to re-configure mine with a colleague when I first got here so I could even use the damn thing. Bricked it by accident on the first attempt, and the tech department took two days for me to get a new one.

If you can't find good alcohol in the regular stores, then try the black market. They carry shit that you won't find common. But be prepared to shill out for it.

There are several establishments that sell alcohol. Some have better atmospheres than others. I suppose it all depends on what sort you are seeking.

She will like him even more because he is sassy as fuck. Tony will be amused in a resigned manner, but also pleased because FRIDAY is like his child and, yes. ]

And probably some other things that I wouldn't be surprised I have to salvage from things....

[ He tilts his head.] Think I might be able steal some?
