[ Although the image is mostly Wash's face, there's enough background in the shot to make it clear that he's standing in one of the Eluvio's corridors. There's a door behind him and just off to the left is a sign that reads: SIMSPACE. Once the feed's going, he jerks his thumb back toward the door. ]

If I don't come out of here in like a day, send someone in to get me.

[ He pauses, making a slightly exasperated, slightly apologetic face. ]

And hey, if using this thing unleashes some kind of virtual reality nightmare on everybody, sorry. [ Does that require a little clarification? Maybe it requires some clarification. ] I've seen the old movies. I know how this shit goes.

[ Agent Washington. Always a pessimist. He offers a faint, tiny smile. ]

Otherwise, if anybody wants to visit one of the beaches on my homeworld, come on down. I can give you the grand tour.

Does that mean this ship has a holodeck?

Yeah, it's like, you go inside a room, put in a program to say, visit the mountains, and it's like you're there. You can smell it. Feel the air against your skin. But you never leave the room.

I know how it works, in fact I have one similar on my own ship, but I am just surprised that I have not happened upon the one on the Eluvio.

Do you know if the program is able to replicate memories of places? Or are the settings already pre-programmed?

So if I end up breaking this one, you can fix it?

Kidding.

It's got a lot of scenarios programmed in already. Some things I've never heard of. But I programmed something of my own. A place from my childhood. It works.

Well I am assuming that the interface differs greatly from Altean technology.

[also she's not like. too technologically efficient like that either. Pidge, Hunk, or Coran, on the other hand...]

That is good to know. I wonder if we would be able to program...worlds that have recently been destroyed. To perhaps offer comfort to our ship's newest inhabitants.

I don't know. Probably. I've never heard of Alteans before.

Maybe? Don't see why not. Though speaking as a guy who watched his whole star system get destroyed by bloodthirsty aliens, best thing you can do is move forward. Lingering in memories is just going to drive you crazy.

[ There are so many levels to this statement it isn't even funny. ]

and...there's a truth to that statement, as someone who also had to deal with her own loss of her homeplanet so.]

...you are correct. It would only be a small comfort in the short term.

Still, it may be valuable to archive visuals of their planet for the years to come. I know I would have wanted the same.

It didn't take me too long to do. Having a clear image in your mind of what you're trying to make helps, I think.

I will have to see the Eluvio's holodeck for myself sometime.

[ He doesn't push about it. Having been through it, he knows what a sensitive subject it can be. ]

Might not be a bad idea. There are a couple rooms. I don't know how busy it gets but nobody's down here now.

Then perhaps I will take a look at them in a little while.

Yeah. That's right. Agent Washington. Wash for short.

You're a real princess? Like actual royalty?

I am. My father was the King of Altea.

[NOT THAT SHE EXPECT THAT MEANS ANYTHING BUT?? yeah. space princess royalty even though her planet has been gone for about 10,000 years.]

Is that a country or a planet? Not that it really matters, a princess is a princess, but I'm curious.

It was a planet.

[ Doesn't that just put the whole thing into perspective. She didn't just lose her home and homeworld. She lost a planet she was in some way responsible for, too. ]

I'm sorry to hear that, Princess. I wasn't anyone on my world. Fought for it though. That's all you can do.

Fighting for your world makes you somebody. I have never met someone who wasn't anyone.

[she's. doing that usual Princessy uplifting shtick.]

I am so sorry for what happened to your star system.

Someone told me once that it isn't the end as long as someone remembers. Your world lives on in you. Just like mine does.
