[A video! Of a DROID. A dark faced droid with white photoreceptors looking at his video feed. If droids could have facial expressions, his would be confused, or annoyed, or a bit of both really.]

Handy man. I was assigned to be a handy man at a place called Nuts and Bolts. What an absurd name for a business. If they understood my capabilities they would understand they are well above “Handy Man”. I am not some simple labor droid.

[He pauses his rant, head lifting and looking back and forth, before continuing to speak again.]

This situation is abnormal. The odds that they are lying however appear to be low. The situation I recorded last was ... not good, so this could be considered a vast improvement. I am, however, unfamiliar with some of the technology here. They could have at least equipped me with some upgrades instead of this communication device.

[What a string of complaints! Oh right, this device. He looked down to it again, stared, then lifted his other hand near it.]

I am K-2SO. I am looking for those who may understand the call sign of “Rogue One” ... which is also an absurd name.

That is all. [and he would cut the feed unless someone replies to this. The odds of someone replying are high. The odds of it being someone he actually knows are about middle ground. That, to him, is being optimistic and hopeful]

[ oh my god, sir, stop it. this is alarmingly adorable and she bites the inside of her cheek in order to keep herself from smiling. this is, of course, exactly how she imagined it happening when she texted cassian in the first place. ]

[In all his programming and all the years he has been around Cassian, there is something about the mans excitement to see him that still has him taken back a bit. And honestly honored.]

[His programming might not be able to take all this. He watches Cassian looking up at him, right in front of him, full and whole and alive and happy to see him. He glances to Jyn as Cassian ask's if it's amazing or not, and as she says it's amazing.]

[He looks to the Captain again and raises a metal hand carefully, reaching up to pat his head, oh so very softly. Barely touching, as he doesn't want to hurt him. There there.]

Of course I am amazing. Take your time to digest it. And, so we are clear through your excitement, I will not admit to anything she demands.

[ There's more laughter at that, because it's all so very Kay. ]

I may never have enough time to digest it my friend.

[ But then there's something about admitting he likes Jyn and Cassian frowns in confusion, looking from one to the other. ] Didn't you just say you liked her? When I came in?

It's implied, [ jyn corrects. well, whines. it is heavily implied and she knows it's true and appreciates it, but she is also the most stubborn human being in a galaxy so. much like she won't give in to cassian's romantic endeavors, she won't give in to kay's implied friendship.

her arms cross over her chest, hip jutting out petulantly. ] I'm not an implied friend.

[And to Jyn, he glanced, head lifting again. He already said it, see? Cassian heard it. Implied... is basically saying as much!]

It is very heavily implied? That tends to be enough for Cassian.

[WELL. Now it's a GAME. How long can they go without him SAYING that he LIKES her? Who knows.]

What he said. [Kay said as he waved his hand towards Cassian but looked at Jyn. All two of his friends were impli--wait he had two? Oh, he meant Jyn. His hand dropped.... but he did not agree more on this.]

[it was FACT, sure, but he didn't admit that.]

Rank holds no point here anyhow. My past jobs hold no sway either. Not to mention no one would believe a proper example of droid engineering like me would be condemned to sewage disposal.

[ Captain has just been part of who he is for so long...

Still. He looks from one to the other and shakes his head. ]

I can't force Kay to say he likes you even though we both know he does; also he was never part of any sewage disposal.

[ she narrows her eyes. it might be about cassian not being a captain, it might be about kay being a butthead. (to match her own butthead status, of course.) the world may never know.

I'm aware of that. [ she does not say she will not spread this dirty lie however, but as that would involve willingly talking to people that is highly unlikely to happen. her arms unfold to clasp in front of her, which makes her look far more innocent. ]

[He glanced to Cassian about that name chance. Hmm.] You can change it, but you will still be a Captain to me.

[Okay, so what he said about Rank? He was actually siding with Jyn about it not being important, but he's also going to state that Cassian being a Captain is a thing and is important. Talk about confusing damn droid.]

[To Jyn though, his head tilted, watching her. He can see through your innocence. It does not work on him. Cassians comment of not forcing Kay to say it but that they all know he does was simply met with:]

[Smug smirk tone. This is going to be a very long game, Jyn. Can you handle it?]

A lot of people were interested in it, the idea that I am a Captain. Or was, as the case may be.

[ Considering they're all posthumous at the moment. Still. Cassian looks from Jyn to Kay and back to Jyn again before just shaking his head. ]

I'm not getting in the middle of this.

[ with ease, jyn steps from the seat back on to the floor of the ship, crossing the floor to look up at cassian. HEAVILY IMPLIED TO BE IGNORING KAY. what losers. ]

You already are, Captain. I'm going to go find Bodhi, enjoy your surprise. [ and she's just going to stride right outta the ship, calling over her shoulder, ] It's nice to see you, Kay!

[ she was always going to abandon them to each other because she doesn't need to be the third wheel to their reunion and, even though she is the least sentimental (god, she's really not), she wants them to have this moment to themselves.

[Key was about to point out that Cassian was smart not to get into the middle of this, but Jyn started to move. For all of a moment he was waiting for one of the two of them to get slapped. The odds were high that it would be him.]

[Instead she was leaving. He leaned back a bit to look out towards where she was going, then lifted a hand to wave/salute her retreat.]

It's nice to see you as well, Jyn.

[And in that moment there wasn't a sarcastic tone to his voice at all. He did mean it.]

[He glanced back to Cassian a moment later.] She is very stubborn.

There is a saying about pots calling kettles black, [ Cassian points out, because Kay has been stubborn as long as he has existed as his own personality. ] considering that both are black, and so are you, I can say that she might just out-stubborn you, Kay.

[ That was a convoluted statement, Cassian, but he's grinning. ]

You should tell her you're friends when she least expects it. [ Like when she's sick or something. ]

Seeing as I am already black. It looks as if I will at least give her a run for her credits. [Kay, please...] The question is, will she out stubborn you.

[Not nice at all. Saying it like that makes it sound as if Cassian is the unreasonable one between the three of them.]

[ It's that simple (no it isn't) and Cassian can't afford to take any reaction she has to that idea personally. There's a lot going on that has nothing to do with him, and they've only known each other for a short time anyway. ] They both will.
