[Video] UN: Komaeda

[The video starts with a close up of Komaeda's face as he's messing with the settings. It's advanced technology he's not familiar with, but it didn't take him long to get it going. Nothing ever takes him long to figure out when he tries.

He leans away and offers a smile, but it's a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. He's tired. There's a weight there. People who are familiar with him might notice it's a little less carefree than he usually is. But then it's only to be expected.]

Hello! This is quite the interesting thing to be suddenly rushed through. They said anomalies were the cause, but isn't that a bit curious? "Anomaly" is such a vague term. It's the sort of thing you see on TV used to hand wave fantastical concepts they don't want the audience to think of too much. So is there something not being explained here?

[Of course he barrels straight to the delicate question.]

But, what do I know? There's a lot of surprising things happening all at once. In fact, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if I was told we were in some sort of MMO! Being in some sort of elaborate program would make more sense than not anyway.

[He goes quiet for a moment, his expression far away lost in thought. It takes him a moment to remember the camera and go back to his train of thought.]

Ah, since I was just recently welcomed to this little expedition, I should introduce myself. My name is Komaeda Nagito. There's not really anything else to say, I'm a bit luckier than most people?

[He laughed a little.]

I was the first of us to show you here, you know! And now suddenly you're all popping up one by one... or occasionally two by two! [He wonders, could there be two Komaedas too?]

That is rather odd, but it must be nice to have familiar people at least.

Gahaha! You're right about that one - it really is! Being in outer space for a few months can really make a guy homesick, after all! Heh... And with my class around, I feel like we can really solve a lot around here!

[They solved a bunch of teenage murders, surely they can also handle space mysteries and space murders!]

Oh? Are there a lot of mysteries to behold?

[The idea was even exciting! Perhaps being here wasn't bad luck?]

Quite a few! We don't know a lot about this ship or the people running this operation, after all. It's really fishy if you ask me!

And... Well, I'm sorry to say that there's murder even in outer space.

Oh how exciting!

Have people gathered any clues on them?

[nodyinteam]

Sheesh! Of course you're excited.

I think a few things have been picked up here and there, but nothing that's been able to point towards a suspect! [The good thing about not being on the island is that they don't have to worry about time limits for investigations, at least. But the bad thing is that... well, because of that, whoever or whatever killed those people is still at large.]

Do you know where I can find those? Or who to talk to about it?

[He didn't for one moment assume Nidia had anything useful to tell him regarding the details.]

Well I've been trying to keep notes on everything that's been reported on the communicators! [He can have truth bullets too, jeez!!] Pretty sure that Hinata's been taking notes, too.

...Don't tell me that you just arrived in outer space, and the first thing you want to do is investigate more murders?!

Why not? Solving a puzzle is fun, and it's something to do. I wouldn't mind something to keep me occupied.

[It wasn't like he had anything better to do.]

But I'm glad Hinata kun has information! I'll definitely have to talk to him.

Sheesh, whatever rows your boat... but you know, if you really wanna keep yourself engaged, you could always pick up a sport!! We have a lot more equipment here than we did on the island, believe it or not!

No... that's alright. I'm not really the best with that kind of physical activity.

[nodyinteam]

Ha! You know, some physical activities are less strenuous than others. So if you ever feel otherwise, I'll take you under my wing and show you the ropes of whatever you seem most suited for!!

There's always chess?

CHESS IS NOT A SPORT!

[He shouts back very defensively.

But then after a beat, he goes on with a relative calm.]

If that's what you want to play, that's your choice.

It uses a point system that falls under a sport.

And though I like chess, I don't really want to play it that way.

Ha! Under that definition, yeah. But a real team manager will still never acknowledge something where you sit down and play under a board!

But that's besides the point... So you're not even willing to pursue chess on a competitive level?!

It's a little boring in the end.

I don't really like being competitive with people anyway. Isn't it better to support everyone together?

You raise a good point! You know, that's why I mostly like working with teams. You get the best of both worlds! Cooperation between teammates and competition against rival teams... Now that's the kinda stuff I live for!

That's very admirable!

If I was going to be involved in something like that, I think I would want to be someone that supports everyone else, rather than be part of the group.

So, what, like some sort of advisor or a coach?

Maybe? I like the idea of advisor, but that seems too important for someone like me.

When you're part of a team, everyone's important enough! As long as you have the skills, or the willpower to improve, you can be appointed that position!

Trash has no skills and even if they try and improve it won't happen.

I don't really have anything worth while about me after all. I'm just lucky and that would be a bad sort of teammate.
