[The video starts with a close up of Komaeda's face as he's messing with the settings. It's advanced technology he's not familiar with, but it didn't take him long to get it going. Nothing ever takes him long to figure out when he tries.

He leans away and offers a smile, but it's a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. He's tired. There's a weight there. People who are familiar with him might notice it's a little less carefree than he usually is. But then it's only to be expected.]

Hello! This is quite the interesting thing to be suddenly rushed through. They said anomalies were the cause, but isn't that a bit curious? "Anomaly" is such a vague term. It's the sort of thing you see on TV used to hand wave fantastical concepts they don't want the audience to think of too much. So is there something not being explained here?

[Of course he barrels straight to the delicate question.]

But, what do I know? There's a lot of surprising things happening all at once. In fact, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if I was told we were in some sort of MMO! Being in some sort of elaborate program would make more sense than not anyway.

[He goes quiet for a moment, his expression far away lost in thought. It takes him a moment to remember the camera and go back to his train of thought.]

Ah, since I was just recently welcomed to this little expedition, I should introduce myself. My name is Komaeda Nagito. There's not really anything else to say, I'm a bit luckier than most people?

Sheesh, whatever rows your boat... but you know, if you really wanna keep yourself engaged, you could always pick up a sport!! We have a lot more equipment here than we did on the island, believe it or not!

No... that's alright. I'm not really the best with that kind of physical activity.

Ha! You know, some physical activities are less strenuous than others. So if you ever feel otherwise, I'll take you under my wing and show you the ropes of whatever you seem most suited for!!

There's always chess?

CHESS IS NOT A SPORT!

[He shouts back very defensively.

But then after a beat, he goes on with a relative calm.]

If that's what you want to play, that's your choice.

It uses a point system that falls under a sport.

[Like it or not.]

And though I like chess, I don't really want to play it that way.

Ha! Under that definition, yeah. But a real team manager will still never acknowledge something where you sit down and play under a board!

But that's besides the point... So you're not even willing to pursue chess on a competitive level?!

It's a little boring in the end.

I don't really like being competitive with people anyway. Isn't it better to support everyone together?

You raise a good point! You know, that's why I mostly like working with teams. You get the best of both worlds! Cooperation between teammates and competition against rival teams... Now that's the kinda stuff I live for!

That's very admirable!

If I was going to be involved in something like that, I think I would want to be someone that supports everyone else, rather than be part of the group.

So, what, like some sort of advisor or a coach?

[despairing_hope]

Maybe? I like the idea of advisor, but that seems too important for someone like me.

[nodyinteam]

When you're part of a team, everyone's important enough! As long as you have the skills, or the willpower to improve, you can be appointed that position!

[despairing_hope]

Trash has no skills and even if they try and improve it won't happen.

I don't really have anything worth while about me after all. I'm just lucky and that would be a bad sort of teammate.

[nodyinteam]

You shouldn't sound so sure about that! Haven't you ever heard the saying?! One man's trash is another man's treasure!

You still have the potential to be a great asset to a team. I just know it!!

[despairing_hope]

And sometimes trash is just trash and should be burned.

That's only in extreme circumstances.

I'M FOND OF RECYCLING, MYSELF!

Only extreme? And though recycling is great, isn't the idea of using a useless substance to help create energy for others a glorious thing? If burning me could bring hope to others I wouldn't mind.

No, that would just be sad! It would be a lot better if the substance stayed in its original form, no matter how useless it thinks it is!

Then what about energy consumption? Where would you like to get the fuel for it?

Through non-living matter, of course!!

Then garbage is the perfect thing!
