_{[ The feed clicks on and shows not one, but two-almost-Karamatsus. The difference between them is easy to see once you find it: Karamatsu’s confident posture and Ichimatsu’s slouch— Karamatsu’s bold eyebrows and Ichimatsu’s stubby ones. Yes, this is one out of the five other identical brothers that Karamatsu has. Some of you have met them both and maybe have noticed the difference right away, others may still be struggling to tell them apart. Here they are, side by side, though, and it may be hard to make out good details of them in the dim light. Karamatsu clears his throat, looking rather serious for a change. It takes him awhile to speak, running one hand down his face and curving it around his chin, obviously distressed by all of this. Ichimatsu? Not so much. ]}

Ah, good evening, everyone. It’s I, Karamatsu.
It’s been.. awhile since I have spoken with you all, but I come baring some tragic news. Yesterday, me and my brother took a walk through the atrium to find better sources of light. What we found was something else. In the trees, we found the gruesome display of organs thrown over the vegetation in a horrific showcase. A—ah, that’s.. not all that we have found..

_{[ He looks a little pale just talking about this and for a moment he has to pardon himself out of the camera. ]}

...You’re still sick about that? Pansy.

[Ah, there’s another difference. While they both speak in deeper voices than one might expect from their looks, Ichimatsu speaks much less clearly, barely opening his mouth and mumbling as opposed to Karamatsu’s clear enunciation. Nevermind the fact that Ichimatsu looks approximately like he’s not used a hairbrush in a week. He rolls his shoulders and takes over, scrunching his face at his brother off-screen.]

There was a boot in the trail, dunno what happened to the other one. The viscera was all up in the trees, like he said, but it was too dark to really tell what was where and if any of them was still intact. There was also a heart in a gold box-- we surrendered it to find out who it belonged to, so I guess there’s not really anything for a burial.

_{[ Karamatsu returns to the feed, wiping his lips across his sleeve. ]}
….For those of you who are friends and family of a passenger named “Rey” … my condolences go out to you. Please keep close to those people you love. Thank you.

I'm fine, he's apparently becoming bulimic. [Ichimatsu you are not kind.]

Sounds like a shock reaction to me. If it gets worse, he should sit down and put his head between his legs before he throws up.

[ichimyatsu]

[He frowns, barely visibly, and turns his head to look off-screen, presumably at Karamatsu.]

...he'll be fine. [But he's glad to have a recommendation if it gets worse. Just. Like hell he'll ever admit that.]

[fujita]

Don't overestimate shock, okay? Please.

[Ichimatsu is not an honest person. He behaves like he hates the very air Karamatsu breathes, and hates it more after he's inhaled it and exhaled it back, like it's toxic and it takes air he could be breathing. He doesn't, really, Karamatsu is just flashy and annoying and visibly confident, all things Ichimatsu wishes, more than anything, that he had the capacity to be, himself. But again, being dishonest and lost and anxious as he was, he didn't know how to say that, either.]

[So he's annoyed, when he turns back to Dorothy on the feed, and he wants to tell her that he isn't, that he's going to watch him, that maybe he'll contact her if something is weird or he gets sick again. Because he doesn't know how to take care of someone, especially not someone he's so determined to act like he hates. But instead he just shrugs, because it's easier to look hateful. People leave you alone if you look hateful, or sick, if you push them away enough. So he makes a first attempt at pushing her away.]

If he can't make it through this he sure isn't gonna last long up here, is he? It's a learning experience.

[ dorothy can't imagine hating your brother, or even pretending to, but then, she can't imagine having a brother, either. or she can, but she probably idolizes the whole thing somewhat. ]

That's bullshit. If he's struggling with this, you try to help. Otherwise how are any of us going to make it through this?

[There's an odd sort of vague smile of an expression on his face and he shrugs his shoulders gently. He won't look at her anymore, seeming to look anywhere but the communication feed.]

...I'll make sure he pukes between his knees if he does it again.

Good.

[ that wasn't so difficult now, was it? ]

Karamatsu instantly pipes up, then waves a hand, trying to dismiss everything. The look on his face? Totally cheerful (he's totally acting.) ]}

I-I am feeling.. wonderful! Fantastic, even! Ah, I could not have felt any better after seeing what I did if I even tried.
How about you? Are you doing alright?

_{[ SHE WASN'T EVEN THERE.. ]}

[ welllllll if he can still flirt obnoxiously, it's probably not all that bad. ]

Yeah? I'm glad to hear it. [ even if she doesn't believe any of it. ]

That's.. that's good. That's well. I remember your username, and talking to you before, Miss Weather Lady.
I am mostly worried, you see, for all of the people on this ship if whatever is out there is still out there.

Do you have a means of protecting yourself and others?

[fujita]

I have Toto. And a gun. So I'll be all right.

[ but - ] Do you think it's still out there? What did this?

[glitterpants]

To my knowledge, it hasn't been found. S—so, it would only make sense it is still lurking about. However, it's smart.. to place an organ in a box like that.. it's certainly not something that is completely savage. It has intelligence.. and.. probably usable thumbs.
_{[ It's almost like another sick person did it instead of a monster, which makes Karamatsu feel even worse. What if it was another passenger? ]}

[fujita]

That's not good.

[ that's not good at all, and it could definitely be another passenger, or a person. dorothy has seen enough in the news, the hospital and in oz to know that people can do terrible things. hell, she's been driven to do terrible things, too. she's talked someone into killing themselves — to keep lucas and herself from being tortured any longer, from being killed, but she'd done it deliberately and knowingly. that's on her.

annnd he doesn't look so good right now. ] But let's take a deep breath for now.

[glitterpants]

_{[ It occurs to him when she tells him to take a breath that she works in the medical field, that's right. So, Karamatsu does take an easy, deep breath.. and he just.. holds it.... and holds it... then exhales out. ]}

If we get hurt, you would be willing to help, right?
_{[ he's just very concerned nobody gives a fuck about him, so.. he needs this reassurance. ]}

[fujita]

[ good, that's good. keep breathing, karamatsu. ]

Of course I would.

_{[ Another breath. He'll hold it and ease out again. If he keeps doing this without thinking, though, he might start hyperventilating. ]}

I should learn how to help you should you ever get injured in return, then.
_{[ he's very serious about all of this! people usually don't care.. ]}

[ no hyperventilating, please. for now, the slow breathing still sounds good to dorothy. ]

I'll have to figure out when to start those first aid classes we talked about.

Of course, but for now, you should be careful, because if you are hurt, who is to rescue you and be by your side? I at least have my brother here, now. Two is better than one, but six is the best.

_{[ there's a small pause, then Karamatsu cups his chin, his lips curving upward in a slight smile. ]}

Fret not, beautiful pearl— Ichimatsu and I will do what we can to protect you or provide company if you ever need it. Chin up. Perhaps they will show up later as well.
