I hope all of you are doing alright after everything that's happened. Our new friends must be in mourning, so let's do our best to respect them and work together to make it easier on them. Even if we are to fall seven times, together, we can stand up eight and help these new crewmates on their feet as well. The Fek seem to have some amount of trust towards myself and my two teammates who visited them back on the planet, Victor and Yuuri, so if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask us. You know, they're very cute, gentle creatures.

However, in the midst of all of this torment and heartbreak, I'd like to focus on brighter things. We all seem to be arriving from different worlds, dates and times, and Victor had mentioned to me that he was keeping a calendar. If we are able to share our dates like this, I believe we can become closer as a community and offer support towards one another, you know? I support this idea fully, so, I'd like to help out in whatever way that I can, beginning with your birthdays. If you don't mind, please let me know your name and birthday so that we can add it to our calendar. ♪ Fufu, for those of you with more unique calendars, let's discuss a way to translate it so that you won't be left behind. Leave it to me.

I'll also take any holidays that you may know of. If I'm unfamiliar, please explain them to me once I ask. I'm in your care. ♪

Because it falls in the winter, I'm often sick during Valentine's Day. But even when I was hospitalized, many of my fans would have fresh made chocolates delivered. Ah, Wataru has also surprised me, in the past.

Fufu, are you giving his birthday in revenge? Thank you, but I already knew. I found out too late to give him a gift. I should work harder to sing him a song while I have my time here.

Ah so you already knew what it was. I arrived at the end of the month, so I missed it, too.

Oh, I haven't? He was my idol. A man I looked up to and strove to become. Now, he is a beloved member of my unit.

Oh, but why don't you make up for your absence by celebrating extra on Valentine's Day?

Your idol? [That whole part sounds very familiar...] What was he like?

I told him I'd try to make up for it, but he just told me to celebrate it with him next year instead. It was a little weird.

[He doesn't like the word 'was' because it reminds him that he's here alone, that he might never see Wataru or any of his friends again. The oddballs, the other students at the academy, Anzu, none of them. He's surprised how much it hurts.]

The image of perfection. A man with long, flowing silver hair like the moonlight, who can steal the gazes of anyone in the area. He's stunning, captivating, and charming. It's everything you could imagine in an idol. With just a few words, he's able to raise the spirits of his audience, and inspire the hearts of idols like myself. He's beautiful on the stage, and most certainly my left hand man. Now, I can't imagine myself without him.

But he does get a little loud sometimes, and with all of his magic, it's difficult for him to hold back. There are so many times he covers the floor in roses where I walk. Honestly, it's too much.

By the way, Yuuri, Victor did tell me that he doesn't celebrate his own birthday much. I wonder why that is?

His birthday? I don't know... Viktor and I didn't really know each other until about 9 months ago.

Wait, magic? You didn't mention that you knew people with abilities like that.

Wataru's abilities are difficult to explain and truly an exception. I have no idea how he does what he does, but they're an asset to our performances.

About that...we're not actually engaged yet. It was a misunderstanding, but we talked about it after the first mission.

So that means you don't have any magic of your own?

[After being on Eluvio for about a month, Yuuri's just come to accept space travel and magical abilities as a part of life on the ship. There is one part of Eichi's words that nags at him a little. He debates it for a moment, then switches over to the encryption... if only because it could be a sensitive topic.

Somehow even his text manages to capture the careful, hesitant tone.]

Oh... Not yet, then? Fufu, you two are still so cute, I can't help but admire it.

I can't do anything exceptional like that, no. All I have are my talents as an idol and this weak body of mine.

But of course, Wataru means a lot to me, just as any member of Fine does.

Well you have fans as an idol so that must mean people think you ARE exceptional.

Fine's the name of your group? How many members are there?

Of course. As an idol, it's my responsibility to appear perfect to the audience and my fans.

Perfect? That sound kind of tiring. You at least got to relax with your other group members, right?

To be honest, it's very exhausting. Wataru has seen every side of me, since he was the victim of my sinister plan that ruined his reputation and relied on his love for theatrics to be his own downfall. He was there every step of the way, even after I defeated his friends one by one.

Yuzuru is also reliable, but he's so focused on Tori that I don't have much time with him alone. And my cute little Tori is someone that I see great potential in. He must see me as an idol, as someone he can look up to and find unreachable, so that he can reach despite that and eventually surpass me. I hope to see him upon my throne, one day.

[Eichi's mentioned the kind of thing he'd done to get to the top back in his academy, but it's still jarring to here it laid out so frankly like this.]

You ruined Wataru's reputation? But I thought you said he was your idol...

[He's confused here, help him out.]

My idol and my inspiration. Wataru was the reason I decided to become an idol myself. Watching him on stage like that, I couldn't wait to become the same.

As much as it pained me to do, he was the perfect piece for my last step. In order to relentlessly move up and sit upon the throne, I had to rely on his theatrics. He became the villain in order to make me appear the hero.

Reminds me a little of how I saw Viktor in the beginning.

Why did he have to become the villain, though? I guess that's the part that I don't understand.

To gain my title as "Emperor" I had to take a great many regrettable steps. There needed to be villains that could be defeated, for the views of the school to be changed, and so I created the five Oddballs. By defeating them one by one, in the eyes of everyone, Fine was nothing but angels, vanquishing the demons from their school and guiding them down the path to salvation.

Fufu, but Wataru is one of those angels now, as well. That's in the past... even if it's a thing that no one can forget.

[The word he uses for "oddball" is roughly translated in most sources... But they all speak weird, have quirks, and they were all portrayed as monsters, basically.]

[Ah, he's starting to understand what Eichi's getting at.]

I think I get it. You gave the school something to unite against and defeat.

What happened to the other Oddballs?

[Even if you took Wataru out of the equation, that still left a few others.]

That's right. ♪

The Five Oddballs became the Three Oddballs, and aside from Wataru, none of them like me very much at all. They probably hate me. Still, they have their own groups and their own successes, and I think they've all grown very much.

[yokunaru]

I don't know these people, but I don't think you can fault them for being upset with you. Was it really necessary?

It's good that they've found other groups to join, though.

Fufu, I don't fault them at all. It makes sense to hate someone like me, who has ruined so much of what they built up, doesn't it? I understand that well. But they have grown closer to their units because of it, and so I will watch from the sidelines as they're adored once more.

In the end, I do believe it was a happy ending.

[Why do you sound so happy about being hated...]

You're really okay with that? Being hated.

[Because he must appear perfect at all times!! He's not happy to be hated at all.]

I've changed a lot since then, so I wish I could get them to see that, but I understand that it's unrealistic to expect such a thing.
