[Abruptly, there's the sound of blades cutting through ice coming from the communicators as the figure skater on screen does a quick lap around what appears to be an ice rink. Then, there's a shift in his center of gravity before he's jumping, landing a triple axel with ease. The air of grace disappears as soon as the figure skater catches sight of the camera pointed at him.]

Viktor! [Some might recognize Yuuri's voice before he glides closer, a look of dismay on his face.] You said you weren't recording yet!

Ah, but Yuuri! You were skating so wonderfully, I couldn't resist! [Viktor doesn't sound apologetic, but as the image shifts, he comes on screen, smiling at the camera and holding up his free hand to wave.] Hello, friends of the Eluvio! Yuuri and I wanted to extend you a formal invitation to Eluvio's skating rink, the Ice Palace.

[Yuuri, apparently having resigned himself to delivering the message this way, just sighs with exasperation as he reaches Viktor at the side of the rink.] Um, we're going to be hosting a short exhibition show on Valentine's Day, too. Viktor thought it'd be a good idea, since a lot of people onboard haven't seen figure skating before. And there's going to be food...? [He trails off, looking at Viktor for confirmation.]

[Viktor nods to confirm, flashing another smile.] Horderves and shaved ice. No chocolates! You'll have to make or bring your own. [This last part said with a wink as he brings his finger up to rest against his lips.]

[Viktor's comment makes Yuuri pause.] Actually, about the chocolates, has anyone managed to find a store that sells chocolate molds? I've been looking all over the Shopping Centre for them. [Then, he remembers why they're making the video in the first place, and he blushes as he steers himself back on track.] A-anyway, please come join us for the exhibition! You're welcome to come earlier and see the rink for yourself before then, too.

[With that, he'll give a shallow, polite sort of bow before reaching over to turn the camera off.]

( he ends up laughing at the question, smiling at the lens of the camera. one hand rests at his hip; the other comes up, Victor rolling his wrist before splaying his fingers, back of his hand facing Coran. )

Until arriving here, it's been my career. If you mean in general? Hard to say. Probably not popular enough.

Oh, congratulations on your career! That must be exciting!

[ He assumes. With the lack of deadliness of the sport fully established, Coran would at least like to try to encourage him on his path. No matter how unfortunate its apparent lack of popularity is. ]

And who knows? You may be the one to help bring it into the spotlight!

[genice]

( he has to laugh at that, fairly well and easily amused. )

Here? I hope so. That much has already happened back home.

( he's a biased audience but he is noT STRICTLY WRONG HERE he's just also not egotistical enough to claim the whole world cares about competitive figure skating )

[ Confidence is the key that opens many doors. Plus an alien wouldn't know if there's bias in that confirmation or not anyway, sometimes you gotta go for it. ]

You're not off to a bad start so far. Public representation is important in these cases! Representation and... possibly a simplified guide to the sport.

[genice]

( can he manage a guide either way? sure, for the technicalities. he's both had to go over them often enough in his life and can remember the triplets giving Yuuri's family a rundown on how it all works; that makes it simpler, right? )

Is that your way of asking for one? How wonderfully roundabout!

[coran]

Oh, thank you! I've never been complimented on my roundaboutness, but I suppose there has to be a first time for everything! Yes, I think something introductory could be very useful in this case.

[genice]

I can break down the scoring system without much of a problem. Oh! Breaking down individual aspects... the different jumps, things like that. Yes, we could do something that step by step. Not much for instruction, but a demonstration?

( pardon him thinking out loud right now Coran. )

[coran]

[ That's cool by him. It's nice to see so much thought going into it! ]

Well, it definitely sounds like it'll make for an interesting watch!

I'll have to see what Yuuri thinks, but it feels like something that shouldn't be so difficult to manage!

( then again he'd probably make Yuuri do half the demonstrations just so he'd get to watch him skate, so. )

[coran]

Just don't forget to write your script out beforehand! Saved me quite a bit of time back in my day. Improvisational stuff is a bit of a mixed bag. It's got have some structure to really educate the viewers!

[genice]

( he taps a finger against his lips, humming in consideration. )

I'm more of an off the top of my mind kind of person... we'll see, we'll see!

( how true that is or isn't is up to debate; he's not sure his skills lie in planning out scripts in the same ways that one might with training for such things. choreographing a whole sequence? sure, he's done that for years. how about just doing... that again............. )

[coran]

If you think it'll work. This is going to be a bit different than the usual sorts of instructional videos I've seen!

[genice]

( he announces, finger now held up and out and over his shoulder. )
